Vietnamese drones impress in German skies

The Vietnamese drone named Hera recently completed a demonstration flight in search and rescue operations in the skies of Bavaria, Germany. It has won the admiration of many representatives of technology companies and related research, application and business experts.

The flight took place at Manching Airport on September 25, in collaboration with Real-time Robotics (RtR), the manufacturer of Hera drones , and Protrack, an Israeli leader in intelligent video analysis and positioning software. Protrack also covered all flight costs.

Hera is the only drone in the world that is compact, fits in a personal backpack but can lift 15 kg and has enough space to carry 4 loads (devices) at the same time, combined with Israel's Protrack software that can automatically detect and accurately locate smoke, fire, victims...

The goal of the flight is to prove that the parameters and features announced by Hera and Protrack are achievable in real-world conditions, not just in ideal laboratory conditions. In layman's terms, Hera "talks the talk and does the walk". The verification flight is important because most of the parameters achieved in reality by most drones in the world are lower than the theoretical parameters (achievable only in ideal conditions) announced by the manufacturer.

The flight was named "Carry a Sparrow, Fly an Eagle" to imply that the drone is as small as a sparrow but has the ability to work effectively like an eagle. And the pilot this time was Idan Tessler, a former F16 fighter pilot in the Israeli army. Idan Tessler is also RtR's partner in introducing and distributing Hera to Israel and the EU.

Idan took Hera out of his backpack, deployed it quickly and took off within minutes. Hera carried optical and thermal cameras, plus two bottles of water (1.5 liters) and three bags containing first aid and rescue supplies, and took off. It circled in the clear blue sky over Bavaria, climbed to an altitude of 220m, automatically detected smoke from the fire, then descended to approach the rescue target and dropped all drinking water and first aid supplies to the rescuers quickly and accurately .

The flight ended in admiration of experts in many related fields.

The moment Hera touched down after completing the mission, she received a standing ovation from the audience from world-famous technology companies. The former F16 pilot commented: Hera is responsive, intuitive to control, comfortable and produces impressive sounds.

Checking Google map, many viewers were surprised because after Hera finished flying, Protrack software replaced the old field image on Google map with a real image of the rescue scene that Hera had just collected a few minutes ago.
