Doctors perform surgery to remove left eye socket tumor
Doctors say that if left untreated, the tumor will continue to increase in size, compress and destroy nearby organs, even endangering the patient's life.
The surgery was performed on the morning of June 27 with the participation of leading domestic and international surgeons including: Professor Prem Subramanian; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery - Neuro-Ophthalmology, Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital and Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, People's Hospital 115.
After more than 2 hours of surgery, the tumor was successfully removed from the patient's eye socket. Surgeons said that the tumor had a complex anatomical structure, was large in size, and was in an extremely dangerous location. Doctors had to deal with the bleeding problem with great difficulty.
This is one of the cases conducted within the framework of technology transfer activities of leading ophthalmology experts at home and abroad on the occasion of the 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Open Ophthalmology Conference.
The conference is an opportunity for young doctors to improve their knowledge and skills, creating conditions for patients to access modern medicine...
