However, the Department of Health confirmed that this is just fraudulent information.
The Department of Health added that on September 25 and 26, Ho Chi Minh City Police recorded a case of a number of scammers using high-tech methods to call owners of food service establishments.
Then, ask the business to add you on the social network Zalo to notify that an inspection team from the City Department of Health will inspect and monitor the activities of these establishments related to food hygiene and safety.
These people sent a number of documents impersonating the Department of Health to business establishments, such as decisions and notices from the Department of Health on the establishment of inspection and supervision teams for food production and business establishments in the city.
In order to create trust for business owners, the subjects took similar forms of documents from state agencies to cut and paste.
However, if you read the document carefully, it is easy to see that it is a forgery because the document has many spelling mistakes and the wrong title of the signatory.
This is a trick of taking advantage of social networks to impersonate authorities to cause panic and fear in order to ask business owners to transfer "bribe" money with the purpose of defrauding and appropriating property.
To promptly prevent fraudulent behavior and handle fake information, Ho Chi Minh City Police advise people to be careful of the above scams.
If you receive the above notice, please contact the nearest police station for instructions on how to handle it.
At the same time, organizations, individuals and businesses need to be vigilant when receiving phone calls from strangers claiming to be officials of state agencies and judicial and criminal proceedings agencies... to notify and invite them to work.
People absolutely do not provide personal information, phone number, ID number, home address, bank account number, OTP code... do not transfer money to anyone they do not know or whose identity and background is unknown.
When receiving phone calls with the above signs, people need to stay calm, not panic, and quickly contact relatives and friends for advice.
In case of suspicion of fraudulent property appropriation, promptly notify the nearest police agency for reception and guidance on handling.
The Department of Health no longer has the function of inspecting food production facilities.

Accordingly, "The Department of Food Safety is a specialized agency under the City People's Committee, with the function of advising and assisting the City People's Committee in state management of food safety, inspection, examination, and handling of administrative violations of food safety,...".
Thus, from 2024 onwards, the Department of Health Inspectorate will no longer have the function of inspecting and examining food production and trading establishments.
