Impersonating Dien May Xanh to defraud and appropriate customers' property

VietNamNetVietNamNet30/08/2023

Faced with the recent series of scams, Dien May Xanh affirms that it does not make direct sales calls, call for warranty packages, or have programs to recruit collaborators to work from home.

Recently, a number of people claiming to be Dien May Xanh employees have been calling to sell products directly, inviting customers to buy warranty packages, asking customers to rate products, etc. Then, the people ask customers to transfer money to receive gifts and appropriate property.

A specific case that Dien May Xanh discovered was a bad person contacting customers, claiming to be a company employee, inviting customers to participate in product reviews to receive money or gifts from the gratitude program.

The subjects started by using the real website link of Dien May Xanh to create the belief that this was a real program of the company. The subjects even provided verification documents showing that this was really the program of the system, making the victims lose their guard.

Once trust is gained, the subject continues to set traps using sophisticated and skillful steps. With the participation of many subjects pretending to be company employees to provide advice, the ultimate goal is to ask customers to transfer money.

The money is transferred in advance so that the customer can receive a larger commission or receive goods, and gradually the amount will increase each time. After the victim transfers the money, they will cut off all communication and "cut off the tail" to appropriate it.

In addition to forging official documents, seals, stealing personal information and images of Dien May Xanh employees to create trust, the subjects are even more sophisticated when using information that shows signs of being related to the company, such as using transfer names with the words Dien May Xanh or DMX...

In addition to forging documents and seals, stealing personal information and images of Dien May Xanh employees to create trust, the subjects are even more sophisticated when using information that shows signs of being related to the company.

Faced with the recent series of scams, Dien May Xanh affirms that it does not make direct sales calls, call for warranty packages, or have programs to recruit collaborators to work from home.

“We do not ask customers to rate products, do not call to give away many products, do not ask customers to transfer money to receive gifts, we also do not have promotional programs that call customers directly and offer unimaginable incentives…”, said a representative of Dien May Xanh.

The representative added that Dien May Xanh and The Gioi Di Dong are reputable retailers, so the company operates on the basis of transparency, voluntariness and equality, customers will not be forced or called to pay in advance to get any benefits.

To prevent people from being scammed and having their property stolen by bad guys, Dien May Xanh representative recommends ways to identify subjects with specific signs of fraud as follows: For all transactions related to money, you should make them by bank transfer, the company's account number is in the name of Mobile World Joint Stock Company (specifically account number 123456 at Orient Commercial Bank - OCB and 979979 at Military Bank - MB).

The company does not have any accounts named Dien May Xanh or DMX. Official contact information must come from the hotline numbers, official pages owned by The Gioi Di Dong and Dien May Xanh, Facebook pages, Zalo... must have a blue tick.

“Bad people can steal information or images of Dien May Xanh employees on social networks to use for fraud. If transacting with an employee, customers must make sure that this person is the person they are transacting with at a store of The Gioi Di Dong or Dien May Xanh.

To distinguish genuine employees of The Gioi Di Dong and Dien May Xanh from fake employees for fraud: Customers can request to check their identity (provide phone number, CCCD...) or make a video call to verify that the employee is working directly at the store, call the manager to verify the employee for sure.

If the employee is a scammer, he or she will refuse to answer or always answer in a roundabout way when asked to verify identity. For transactions that require an employee to come directly to the home, customers must always make sure to have an appointment with Dien May Xanh in advance," said a representative of Dien May Xanh.

"Dien May Xanh always offers simple, easy-to-implement programs for customers, so if a subject calls on customers to perform many steps, many days, many times... then it is possible that the subject is a scammer.

This is a completely blatant act of impersonation to appropriate property, causing confusion as well as economic losses to consumers. Faced with the widespread impersonation situation, the company has reported the situation to the authorities for timely handling," a representative of Dien May Xanh affirmed.
