(Dan Tri) - This morning, December 4, "American International Kindergarten" welcomed children back to school after 2 days of temporary closure due to teachers' strike.
According to Dan Tri reporter, at 8:30 this morning, the independent preschool Nui Hoa Hong (Long Bien) has reopened. Inside, some children are playing.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Tra provided information that since last night, the school has sent a notice to encourage parents to send their children to school on the morning of December 4.
In the announcement, the school apologized to parents for disrupting children's learning over the past two days, and said it had completed the October salary regime for teachers, staff and suppliers.
The school picks up children at 7:30 this morning.
"I talked to my child's teacher, and she confirmed that she had been paid. This morning, the teachers picked up my child at school. All the parents were very happy," Ms. Tra shared.
As Dan Tri reporter reported earlier, on the evening of December 1, a series of parents of "Rosemont American International Kindergarten" Long Bien campus received text messages from teachers announcing temporary leave because the school owed them salaries.
On the morning of December 2, Ms. Ta Thi Phuong Mai - introduced as an authorized representative of Rosemont International Cooperation Joint Stock Company - worked with parents.
Ms. Mai confirmed that the school owed salaries because the previous owner had "held" 5-7 billion VND in tuition fees that parents paid before March. The new owner is having difficulty with revenue as the number of new students enrolling is not high.
In the meeting minutes, Ms. Mai pledged that the school would pay all teachers' salaries by the evening of December 2 to ensure that children would return to school on the morning of December 3.
However, at 9:39 p.m. the same day, the school sent a letter to parents announcing the temporary suspension of operations.
Ms. Dao Thi Hoa - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Long Bien District - said that "Rosemont American International Kindergarten" is not an international school but just an independent group of children, with a size of 35 students.
This independent preschool is officially called Rose Mountain Preschool.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Long Bien Department of Education and Training worked with the People's Committee of Phuc Dong Ward, the unit directly managing this preschool.
"Rosemont American International Kindergarten" has a tuition fee of about 8 million VND/month. Parents who pay for 6 months or 1 year will receive a discount. That is why most parents choose to pay tuition 1-2 times during the school year.
