Thai Post reported that the president of the Football Association of Thailand, Madam Pang, paid the hospital fees for striker Nguyen Xuan Son when he was hospitalized in Thailand. Xuan Son was injured in the first half of the second leg of the 2024 AFF Cup final at Rajamangala Stadium on the evening of January 5.
After leaving the field, Xuan Son was taken to a hospital in Thailand. “Madam Pang coordinated the care and support for Nguyen Xuan Son, the striker of the Vietnamese national team, who was injured in the second leg of the final of the 2024 AFF Cup ,” wrote the Thai Post .
“ In addition, Madam Pang supported Xuan Son’s medical expenses and provided full care before the player flew back to Vietnam with his team ,” the Thai Post reported. The assistant to the President of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) confirmed this information. In addition, according to information from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Football Association of Thailand also supported an ambulance to take Xuan Son to the airport.
Madam Pang paid the hospital bill for Xuan Son.
After returning to Vietnam yesterday (January 6), Xuan Son underwent surgery at Vinmec Sports Medicine Center. The entire cost of Nguyen Xuan Son's treatment in Vietnam was covered by the Vietnam Football Federation to ensure the best conditions for Nguyen Xuan Son to return to training and competition soon.
According to the doctor's assessment, if the post-surgery rehabilitation process goes smoothly, Nguyen Xuan Son will be able to compete again in about 8-9 months.
“After the surgery, the doctors have calculated and planned a training and specialized nutritional regimen for Xuan Son, ensuring that the bones heal quickly and that the muscles are not lost. If the training process goes well, after 8-9 months, Xuan Son can compete again,” Professor Tran Trung Dung, Director of Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal Trauma, Vinmec International General Hospital reported to Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan at a visit on the afternoon of January 7.
