On August 29, the Department of Overseas Labor Management (Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) announced that it has just issued a decision to administratively fine 3 businesses sending workers to work abroad with a total fine of 200 million VND.
Accordingly, Hanoi Industrial and Commercial Labor Export Supply Joint Stock Company was fined 112.5 million VND, the highest fine among the violating enterprises.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, this enterprise was fined for not updating information about the workers it sent to the database of workers working abroad under contract. According to regulations, from the date the worker leaves the country until the contract to send workers to work abroad is terminated, all information must be updated.
In recent times, the work of selecting, training resources and sending workers to work abroad under contracts has also been strengthened and managed more closely.
This company also did not update the website of the service enterprise when there were changes according to the law on information about the list of professional staff; prepared labor resources to work in Japan without the written approval of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
In addition, this enterprise did not pay the Overseas Employment Support Fund on time; did not terminate the contract with 1 employee according to the provisions of law.
Tin Phat Trading and Technology Joint Stock Company was fined 60 million VND for preparing labor to work in the shipbuilding industry in Korea (E7 visa) without written approval from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
In addition to being administratively fined, the two businesses were also subject to an additional penalty of suspending their labor preparation activities for 18 months.
Meanwhile, Tien Bo Infinity Vietnam Joint Stock Company was fined VND27.5 million for not paying the Overseas Employment Support Fund on time; not organizing orientation education for workers before going to work in Japan for 1 worker participating in the specific skills program as prescribed by law. This company was only fined, not subject to additional penalties.
Along with punishing the above-mentioned violating enterprises, also in August, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs revoked the license to operate the service of sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad under contract for Vietnam Leather and Footwear Joint Stock Company.
This unit had its license revoked due to failure to ensure conditions regarding deposits, number of professional staff, facilities and electronic information page meeting the provisions of the Law on Vietnamese Workers Working Abroad under Contract.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, strengthening the inspection and examination of enterprises providing services to send workers to work abroad under contracts aims to improve the labor export market and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
In recent times, solutions to stabilize and develop the overseas labor market have been promoted; the work of selecting, training resources and sending workers to work abroad under contracts has also been strengthened and managed more closely.
