With modern specialized equipment on board, officers and sailors of the two forces coordinated and synchronously deployed technical work to handle oil spills according to a scientific and strict process; organized zoning, handling, and thoroughly collecting the amount of oil spilled into the sea to complete the assigned task.
During the oil spill response, two ships of the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Indian Coast Guard received an SOS signal from a ship on fire at sea. Coast Guard ship 8005 and Sumadra Paheredar-ICG 202 accelerated to the scene, approached the ship in distress, and coordinated to spray water cannons to extinguish the fire.
During the fire fighting process, the people on the ship in distress jumped into the sea to escape. When they discovered the people floating at sea, the ships quickly determined the coordinates and urgently deployed high-speed boats to approach the victims, brought them to the rescue ship to stabilize their health, and successfully completed the joint training on oil spill response, environmental pollution treatment at sea, and search and rescue, and fire fighting at sea.
At the end of the mission, the two ships saluted each other at sea and continued their journey to carry out other missions.
