May 2025 pensions will be paid earlier than usual

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Finance to direct the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) to properly handle and pay social insurance and unemployment insurance benefits in a complete, timely and correct manner for beneficiaries.

The payment time for pensions and social insurance benefits for May 2025 is from April 25 to 28, 2025, earlier than usual.

Vietnam Social Security then issued Official Letter No. 534/BHXH-TCKT dated April 21 to Vietnam Post Corporation, Social Security of regions, Social Security of provinces and cities regarding this content.

Accordingly, regarding the payment of pensions and cash benefits, Vietnam Social Security requires units to review and develop payment schedules for beneficiaries from April 25 to 28. At the same time, arrange and organize working departments appropriately to make lists and transfer funds to the post office in time before April 24.

With the form of payment through personal accounts, Vietnam Social Security requires reviewing and transferring the list of pension and benefit recipients to be completed before April 24. Local Social Security will pay through accounts on April 25, while regional Social Security will make payment on April 26.

The country currently has more than 3.3 million people receiving monthly pensions and benefits, of which more than 2.5 million people receive them through their accounts by bank transfer.
