Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong supported, welcomed and highly appreciated the initiative of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions in organizing the Fine Arts Exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification. According to the Deputy Minister, the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification is a major political event of the country, and there will be many cultural, sports and tourism activities to celebrate the event. The exhibition is a meaningful activity of the industry on this occasion, so it must be successfully organized with high efficiency and quality.
The Deputy Minister requested members of the Steering Committee and the Exhibition Organizing Committee to contribute ideas so that the Exhibition activities can be carried out scientifically and effectively, selecting good, quality, meaningful works for display. At the same time, communication work must be focused on and improved, in order to promote and spread the event to the masses.
According to the report, the Fine Arts Exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) is chaired by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions in coordination with relevant agencies and units.
The exhibition is one of the cultural and artistic activities in 2025, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) to contribute to honoring and introducing typical fine art works of generations of artists, painters, sculptors... who have made many contributions to the development of advanced Vietnamese fine arts imbued with national identity and the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; meeting the people's increasing needs for spiritual life and enjoyment of culture and art.
The Fine Arts Exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) is scheduled to take place in the second quarter of 2025 at the Exhibition House No. 29 Hang Bai, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City.
The exhibition includes about 50 excellent works of art from all over the country to display and introduce to the public. The works selected for display at the exhibition must be excellent, typical works of art, suitable to Vietnamese customs, habits, and cultural identity. The works are selected based on the criteria of works that have won the Ho Chi Minh Prize, the State Prize for Literature and Arts with the period of creation from 1975 to present; works by typical authors, and works by famous young authors with many awards.
With artistic techniques and language, the paintings and sculptures displayed at the exhibition bring to art lovers memories of the great victory of our army and people in the resistance war against imperialist invaders, reviewing the glorious and brilliant history of the nation's path of building and defending the country.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong requested members of the Steering Committee and the Exhibition Organizing Committee to base on the proposed Plan to complete and strengthen the Exhibition Organizing Committee. The leaders of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions directed the assigned units, organizations and individuals to proactively coordinate and complete the work on schedule. During the implementation process, if any problems arise, they must promptly report to the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee for consideration and handling.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized that the selection of works for the Exhibition is an important task, a decisive factor for the success of the event. Therefore, the Organizing Committee is required to focus on selecting works for the Exhibition that not only have high artistic value but also are vivid visual impressions of the struggle for national independence, national unification and the construction and renovation process over the past half century.
The exhibition must be carefully invested in both content and display form, the exhibition promises to bring an emotional artistic space, where the past and present intersect. People have the opportunity to discover the story behind each painting, each sculpture, stories associated with the history of the nation, reflecting the resilient spirit and aspiration to rise of the Vietnamese people.
"Through the Exhibition, the public has the opportunity to more deeply understand the value of independence and freedom, and draw valuable lessons from the practical struggle to further foster the will and determination in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
