BANGKOK POST. Thai police have seized a ton of crystal meth after stopping a truck in Nakhon Nayok province, estimated to be worth more than $25 million – the country’s largest seizure of the drug.

THE NATION. Thai health authorities have warned people about the dangers of toxic fumes following chemical fires in Rayong and Ayutthaya provinces in recent weeks.

TEMPO. Heavy rains caused floods and landslides in West Sumatra province, Indonesia, killing at least 28 people and leaving 4 others missing.

BARRON'S. South Korea will create a support package worth more than $7 billion for fabless semiconductor design companies, chip materials and manufacturing equipment in all areas of the semiconductor manufacturing industry, the Ministry of Finance announced.

YONHAP. ​​Korea opens Korea Startup Center in Tokyo to help businesses enter the Japanese market and grow steadily by developing partnerships with local businesses.

KYODO. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department will introduce a 24-hour lost-and-found locker system this summer, reducing the workload of staff handling lost-and-found items.

KCNA. North Korea's Foreign Ministry said it supports a UN resolution calling for Palestine to become a full member of the global body, while criticizing the US for vetoing the move.

China will step up efforts to develop meteorological services for various sectors such as agriculture, transportation, energy supply, health care and tourism, according to Chao Qingchen, director of the National Meteorological Center.

MINT. Two hospitals in the capital New Delhi, India, Burari and Sanjay Gandhi, received bomb threats via email, and police are investigating.

FAO. More than 330 people have been killed as heavy rains and flash floods hit major areas of Afghanistan's Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan and Ghor provinces.

AL JAZEERA. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged all sides to "immediately" halt the fighting in the Gaza Strip, release hostages and increase humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian territory.

AHRAM. The Jordanian army has launched the “Eager Lion” exercise , which is scheduled to last until May 23, with the participation of army, navy and air force forces from 33 countries, including the US, France and the UK.

POLITYKA. Nearly 200 firefighters participated in extinguishing the fire at the Marywilska 44 shopping center in Warsaw, Poland. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

TASS. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin submitted to the State Duma (lower house) of Russia candidates for the positions of Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Ministers, except for a number of positions for which the President of Russia proposed candidates.

RT. Although France seeks to avoid direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, intervention may be necessary to prevent Russia from going too far, French President Emmanuel Macron said.

POLITICO. The United States and China agreed to cooperate on climate change, including deploying emission-reduction technologies, following talks between China's Special Envoy for Climate Change Liu Zhenmin and US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Podesta in the United States.

ABC. The Australian government has announced it will stop exporting live sheep by sea from 1 May 2028, and has announced a AU$107 million ($71 million) support package for the industry during the transition period.
