Last year, the industry with the highest benchmark score was 24, but this year it is expected to be 22.5 - 23 points. Many industries have benchmark scores expected to be 21 - 22. Hot industries such as Marketing are expected to take 22.5 points, E-commerce 22, English, Chinese, Food Technology, Information Technology, International Business 21 points.
He also said that the lowest majors last year only have benchmark scores equal to the school's floor scores this year.
The reason for the decrease in the admission score to Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade this year is that the number of applications to the school has increased but not significantly, while the high school graduation exam scores this year are lower than last year. In addition, the school's quota has increased by more than 2,000, and the quota based on high school graduation exam scores this year has also increased compared to last year.

The University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) also forecasted that most majors are expected to have a benchmark score decrease of 0.5 points compared to last year. The school representative analyzed that this year the number of applications to the school increased sharply compared to 2022, but the candidates' test scores were not high. The University of Economics and Law received up to 24,000 applications, of which the first application was 14,000, while the quota was only 2,400.
In addition to the lower test scores of candidates, this year the school has eliminated the high-quality system and switched its quota to the standard program, the English program has also been cut, and the total quota has also increased compared to 2022. "The change in the way priority points are calculated also reduces the scores of candidates with 25 points or more. The higher the score of the candidate, the lower the priority points, not remaining the same as in previous years," the representative added.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry also expects the benchmark scores for many majors to decrease by 0.5 to 1 point compared to 2022. In particular, the benchmark score for information technology is 21, an increase of 1 point compared to 2022.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education expects the admission scores for all majors to increase by 1.5 - 2 points compared to last year. The major with the lowest admission score last year was 17 points, but this year it is over 19 points. According to this data, the school has five or six majors with admission scores exceeding 27 points.
The reason the expected benchmark score is so high is because the number of applications to the school this year is 40,000, double that of last year. The first choice alone is 14,000 while the quota is only over 6,000.
According to the latest plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the virtual screening process will last 10 times (initially planned to be 6 times) and the final virtual screening will be before 2:00 p.m. on August 22.
After completing the virtual filtering process, the Ministry of Education and Training will return the results to universities for comparison and announce the first round of admission scores. Thus, schools can simultaneously announce from the afternoon of August 22 until before 5:00 p.m. on August 24.
