The two suspects are a Chinese couple.

Accordingly, the clinic named Bokang is run by a Chinese couple, located in the center of the capital Phnom Penh. The clinic has many different departments such as: Chinese medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology, acupuncture,...

MBN News’ survey of local Koreans shows that, despite being located in the center of the capital, Cambodia’s medical infrastructure is still quite backward. Therefore, they have to be extremely careful when seeking medical treatment.

In addition, Cambodian tour guides themselves also said that clinics here are often unreliable, so if they feel unwell, they will choose to go to large general hospitals.

Medical examination and treatment services are introduced at the clinic

Previously, Sports Chosun writer Lee Jin Ho questioned: "Ah Yeong did not go there alone. She went with a female friend. They went to Cambodia together, but after Ah Yeong disappeared, no announcement was made for 3 days.

Even the woman who accompanied Ah Yeong was not revealed at the consulate. The consulate is also keeping quiet despite the growing anxiety of local people about the series of mysterious deaths in Cambodia," Lee Jin Ho wrote.

Regarding this matter, the friend explained that Ah Yeong had personally revealed that she would be going to the clinic for treatment in about 2 days, she thought that her friend was in the hospital so she did not report it to the authorities.

Criminal experts raise 3 unresolved issues

Regarding the incident, on CBS Radio, Dr. Seung Jae Hyeon - a criminal law expert at the Korean Criminal Justice Policy Institute, raised 3 issues.

Streamer Ah Yeong was identified as the victim of the incident.

First, Dr. Seung asked: "Why did the victim go to a hospital run by a Chinese couple and not a Korean hospital?

There are many Korean hospitals, but I think it should be clarified why she went to a foreign hospital where communication might be difficult."

Oh Seong Il - CEO of a Korean hospital in Cambodia also does not understand why the unfortunate victim decided to come to this hospital.

Second, Dr. Seung did not know specifically what symptoms Byun had shown and how he was treated. According to initial information, the victim died after being "injected with serum".

"When you have malaria or tetanus, you get a serum injection to increase your immunity. In this case, what is the reason? Should we consider this a medical accident or an accident?", Dr. Seung said.

Finally, Dr. Seung mentioned the bruises found on the victim's body. Rasmei Kampuchea (Cambodia) newspaper previously reported that the autopsy results showed that the girl's death was not simply a medical accident. The forensic report noted that the victim's neck was broken, her face and body had bruises and burns, and she was suspected of being abused before her death.

Regarding this, Dr. Seung said: “If you are injected with serum, your face may swell up, but the side effects of being assaulted and addicted to drugs are completely different.”

According to Cambodian media, the girl arrived in the Southeast Asian country on June 2. She is believed to have died on her second day in the country after being injected with drugs at a local hospital.

Local police said they had arrested the hospital's owners, a Chinese couple.

The Rasmei Kampuchea (Cambodia) newspaper reported that the two suspects admitted to dumping the body but denied killing the Korean girl.

The suspect said that the girl had come to their clinic for an IV and serum injection on June 4. She then suddenly had a seizure and stopped breathing. After her death, the suspect and his wife used their own car to transport the victim’s body to Kandal province to dispose of it.

According to the Korea Herald, although the victim's identity has not been revealed by authorities, based on the blurred Instagram account photo in the news, netizens believe that the unfortunate victim is streamer Byun Ah Yeong.

Byun Ah Yeong, born in 1990, is a BJ loved by Afreeca TV viewers. She is famous for her food mukbang videos. Her social media account has more than 250,000 followers.
