NATO mercenaries killed in Kursk; US urges Ukraine to lower military age... are notable news about the Russia-Ukraine war on the morning of November 29.
The Russia-Ukraine war on the morning of November 29 witnessed many unexpected developments on the battlefield.
Russian army destroys group of soldiers wearing NATO uniforms
Recently, Russian media reported that a group of soldiers wearing NATO uniforms were killed while taking shelter in a bunker in the forest in Kursk.
RIA Novosti reported that the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) team of the Aida "Akhmat" special forces destroyed a group of militants wearing NATO uniforms near Sudzha in the Kursk region.
The Ukrainian soldiers were spotted by a reconnaissance team in a forest plantation northeast of the city. According to the Russian soldiers, they had repeatedly observed how men in NATO uniforms moved in this forest belt. After calculating their position, the FPV drone operator attacked the bunker where the enemy group was hiding.

“ The reconnaissance team detected the movement of a group of soldiers using the drone. When adjusting the UAV’s position, the FPV operator attacked the enemy’s bunker, ” said the UAV operator, nicknamed “Eldzhey.”
Eldzhey’s comrade also said that he had observed people in NATO uniforms moving around the forest on several occasions. “ We saw them running through the forested area in NATO uniforms. They had trenches there and our FPV specialists were operating in that area, ” the serviceman said.
In addition, a soldier of the "Akhmat" force said that due to the lack of military equipment, the Ukrainian army began to use civilian vehicles, including construction equipment in the area near Sudzha.
“ When our counterattack began at night, when both monitors were turned on - thermal and regular - it was possible to see many vehicles retreating towards Sudzha, but then they disappeared. Now we rarely see their vehicles ,” the soldier recalled.
Meanwhile, an FPV operator codenamed “Omut” from this group stressed that over the past month, the Russian Army has hardly encountered Ukrainian military equipment in the northeastern Sudzha region.
“ The equipment is very rare now. I think they may have run out. One time they came with a dump truck, just left it there and left, ” Omut said. According to him, currently Russian UAVs when observing the Ukrainian army, mainly detect pickup trucks in their formation.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost 500 people in Toretsk in 10 days. This information was announced by the commander of the Ukrainian army's drone unit, Andrey Onistrat. He said that these people almost "disappeared" during the troop change, when the 95th Brigade of the Ukrainian army was replaced by the 150th Brigade.
Ukraine helpless against new Russian tactics
According to Topwar, the situation on the Kupyansk front has reversed, as the Russian army has changed its traditional offensive tactics, using many small armored units at the reinforced platoon level, with paratrooper detachments, to conduct a three-pronged attack behind the Ukrainian defense line.
These Russian armored units were equipped with night vision equipment and quietly penetrated weak points in the defense line at night. Paratroopers used FPV UAVs to precisely attack predetermined targets.
With the surprise attack tactic, the large-scale concentrated defense position of the Ukrainian army was helpless against this new tactic of the Russian army. Many outposts fell quickly after being raided by the Russian army, causing panic among the Ukrainian defense forces.
In the central Donbass battlefield, the fighting on the Kurakhove front has entered its final fierce phase. The Ukrainian army's act of blowing up the Kurakhovskaya reservoir dam failed to stop the Russian advance. Russian engineers quickly built makeshift bridges to ensure the movement of armored vehicles across the flooded area.
The town of Illika on the northern slopes of the Kurakhovskaya reservoir was captured by Russian forces after fierce street fighting. The tactical heights in the town were turned into artillery observation posts for attacks on the city of Kurakhove and its surroundings. Counterattacks by the Ukrainian army were difficult to sustain due to superior Russian firepower.
On the front line in the city of Toretsk, the situation continues to be fierce. Ukrainian media reported that in the past week alone, 500 Ukrainian soldiers of the 95th Brigade were killed in fighting in the city. Russian troops in Toretsk applied division-level siege tactics and divided the city into several independent areas.
Russian armored forces in Toretsk advanced under the support of infantry, artillery and air power, carrying out precision strikes on Ukrainian fortifications. Ukrainian defense positions suffered heavy losses in the continuous bombing, and many Ukrainian companies were in a dilemma due to lack of ammunition.
Ukraine burns tens of millions of dollars worth of Russian military weapons
According to Kyiv Post, the 24th King Danylo Mechanized Brigade in Ukraine’s Donetsk region repelled a Russian attack on Ukrainian positions in Chasiv Yar. The fighting destroyed seven Russian amphibious combat vehicles. The brigade released a video on Telegram.
“ The enemy tried to take advantage of the adverse weather conditions. But when they tried to cross the Siversky Donets-Donbas Canal, our mines ‘welcomed’ them. Then the Russian soldiers were destroyed by UAVs and artillery ,” the brigade said.
The Ukrainian military added that it had destroyed a BMD-4, one of the most modern models of the Russian armed forces and often used by elite airborne assault forces. Each BMD-4 is estimated to cost $11 million.
