Hongqi Limousine carrying General Secretary and President Xi Jinping in Vietnam

Today, April 14, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping officially arrived in Hanoi to begin his two-day State visit to Vietnam on April 14-15. To serve the visit, a fleet of cars transporting Xi Jinping arrived at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi). Standing out in the fleet are two special Hongqi N701 limousines manufactured by the domestic car company Hongqi.

It is known that Mr. Xi Jinping's Hongqi N701 is a car model produced in a limited quantity of only about 50 units. This is the 4th private car model to transport the General Secretary and President of China - Xi Jinping. This super luxury limousine model also appeared at the G20 Summit held in Vietnam in 2022. At the same time, this is the car model born to replace the "senior" Hongqi N501.

Similar to the limited luxury cars reserved for other heads of state, Xi Jinping's Hongqi N701's technical specifications are also kept secret. However, this limousine is predicted to be more than 5 meters long. Most of the length of the Hongqi N701 is of course concentrated in the back seats.

Not only massive, Hongqi N701 also has a more modern exterior design than N501 and is quite similar to Rolls-Royce super luxury cars. This can be seen through the front end design of Hongqi N701 with a large rectangular grille, accompanied by chrome-plated bars along the waterfall style. This grille is surrounded by thick chrome trim and connected to the slim headlights on both sides.

In addition, the Hongqi N701 limousine model reserved for the General Secretary and President of China also has a chrome strip hugging the hood and lying horizontally inside the central air vent on the front bumper. These details make the front of the car both wider and more luxurious. On the hood of the N701 is also the red flag logo typical of the Hongqi brand.

Not stopping there, this presidential car is also equipped with large alloy wheels with red hubcaps. Meanwhile, behind the front fender appears the red flag logo of the Hongqi brand. Next are chrome-plated details such as the glass skirt, B-pillar, door handles and door trim. At the rear, this limousine comes with LED taillights connected by a chrome trim in the middle.

The rear of the car also has a chrome strip across the rear bumper and 2 fake trapezoidal exhaust pipes. It is possible that the car will use a V12 or V8 gasoline engine. Currently, Hongqi has both types of engines.

The V8 engine is a turbocharged, 4.0L type used for the Hongqi LS7, producing a maximum capacity of 360 horsepower and a maximum torque of 550 Nm. Meanwhile, the V12 gasoline engine is a 6.0L type, producing a maximum capacity of 408 horsepower or 375 horsepower and a maximum torque of 550 Nm.

According to some sources, Hongqi will produce 50 N701s for the Chinese President over a period of 10 years. Similar to General Motors' Cadillac, Hongqi is also a brand that has been assigned the responsibility of developing state cars for many years.

In the past, Hongqi has produced other models for the Chinese government such as the L9 or L5 or N501. In addition, it is worth mentioning the specially designed parade car with a large sunroof for Chinese heads of state, which was also manufactured by Hongqi.

This is Mr. Xi Jinping's fourth visit to Vietnam as the highest leader of the Party and State of China and the second during the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. This event also takes place during the "Year of Humanitarian Exchange", commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (1950 - 2025).
