The Southeast Asian Football Championship (AFF Cup) will have a new name from 2024. Specifically, the new name ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup will replace the old name AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup.
This is the fifth time the tournament has changed its name. Previously, it was Tiger Cup (1996 to 2004), AFF Championship (2007), AFF Suzuki Cup (2008 to 2020) and AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup (2022).

The ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024 will take place from November 23 to December 21, 2024, in a home-away format. Thailand is the defending champion of the tournament and has won the most (7 times).
The Singapore team ranked second with 4 times. The Vietnam team ranked third with 2 times and the Malaysia team won the championship once.
In addition, the ASEAN Football Federation also changed the name of the ASEAN Women's Football Championship to the ASEAN Women's Championship. The tournament has changed the competition format when organizing the qualifying round and the final round. Detailed information about the competition format of the ASEAN Women's Championship 2025 will be updated by the AFF in the coming time.
The men's U16 and U19 youth tournaments will be held in Indonesia around June and July 2024. Thailand will host the futsal and beach soccer tournaments in May and November 2024.
Meanwhile, the 2024/2025 ASEAN Club Championship will be held on a home-away basis. The qualifying round will take place on July 17 and July 24, 2024. The group stage will have five matches, from August 2024 to February 2025. The semi-finals will be held in April 2025. The final will be held on May 21, 2025.
The ASEAN Football Federation has given members time to calculate, register and arrange plans to prepare for tournaments in 2024.
