Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha has just signed and issued Decision No. 4354/QD-UBND on promulgating the time frame for the 2024-2025 school year for preschool education, general education and continuing education in Hanoi.
Accordingly, the entire city will hold the opening ceremony on September 5. Students of kindergartens, general schools and continuing education schools will return to school one week before the opening ceremony. First graders will return to school two weeks before the opening ceremony.

Also according to the 2024-2025 school year schedule of Hanoi city, schools will finish semester I before January 18; semester II before May 31, 2025. Students in grades 5 and 9 will be considered for recognition of completing primary and secondary school programs before June 30, 2025. Hanoi will also complete enrollment at the beginning of the school year (grades 1, 6, 10) before July 31.
The 2025 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place on June 26 and 27.
Holidays and Tet holidays during the year are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code and annual guidance documents.
Teachers' annual leave is taken during the summer vacation or can be arranged alternately at other times of the year to suit the specific characteristics and schedule of the school year.
Specifically, according to Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, from 2021, employees will have a total of 11 holidays and Tet holidays with full salary.
Specifically: New Year's Day is 1 day off (January 1); Lunar New Year is 5 days off, Hung King's Commemoration Day is 1 day off (March 10 of the lunar calendar), April 30 Victory Day is 1 day off - International Labor Day is 1 day off (May 1), National Day is 2 days off (September 2 and 1 day before or after).
On the occasion of National Day holiday in 2024, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers will have 4 days off, lasting from Saturday (August 31) to Tuesday (September 3).
For employees who are not civil servants or public employees, the employer decides to choose the National Day holiday option in 2023.
