The delegation offered incense at Uncle Ho's Temple at the relic site where the Vietnam Journalists Association was founded in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune.
This event is held on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the day Uncle Ho and the Party Central Committee and the Government returned to ATK Dinh Hoa to lead the resistance war against French colonialism (May 20, 1947 - May 20, 2023), the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (April 21, 1950 - April 21, 2023) and the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023).
At the ceremony, the delegation visited and offered incense at the relic site where the Vietnam Journalists Association was founded in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune. The delegates spent time reviewing the tradition of building and growing the Vietnam Journalists Association; visiting the Vietnam Journalists Association Exhibition House, which preserves memorabilia and photos of important activities of the Association's leaders from its founding to the present.

Speaking at the event, comrade Tran Thi Huong Giang, Deputy Chief of Office of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said: Immediately after the August Revolution, a series of press agencies and organizations (Voice of Vietnam Radio Station, Vietnam News Agency, Ministry of Information and Propaganda...) were established and on December 27, 1945, the Vietnam Press Corps was born.

Preparations for the establishment of an official Journalists Association were being accelerated when the war broke out as the French colonialists returned to invade. The Vietnamese journalist team was larger, most of them joined the resistance and the Vietnam Press Corps was renamed the Vietnam Resistance Press Corps. The Revolutionary Press was supplemented with new forces and means; a diverse information and press system was formed.
Viet Bac became a cradle of resistance journalism with newspapers such as Truth, National Salvation, People, Independence, Women, Labor, Pioneer, Vietnam News Agency, Voice of Vietnam ... The armed forces all had their own newspapers. Each region and province also had their own newspapers or newsletters and internal magazines. The South formed a network of newspapers and radio stations operating in many localities under the direct management of the Southern Regional Party Committee.

On April 4, 1949, in Viet Bac, following the direction of the Viet Minh General Headquarters, the Vietnam Resistance Press Group opened the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, the first and only course with 42 students. This was the first journalism training facility during the resistance war against France and in the history of our country's journalism.
In early 1950, in response to the need to improve Vietnam's position in the international arena, and at the same time to meet the task of improving journalism skills, the Association of Vietnamese Journalists was established. The Association's founding conference opened on April 21, 1950 in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa district - Thai Nguyen, unanimously approved the Charter, Program of activities, elected the Association's Executive Committee with Mr. Xuan Thuy as President, Mr. Do Duc Duc and Hoang Tung as Vice Presidents, and Nguyen Thanh Le as General Secretary.

On June 2, 1950, the Association was officially recognized by the Government and then joined the Lien Viet Front. Newspapers established branches, and journalists from each agency joined the branch of that agency. The main activities of the branches were to discuss professional issues and foster professional qualifications through practical experience.
And today, after more than 73 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam Journalists Association currently has 24,242 journalist members, operating in 301 Association-level units (63 Provincial and Municipal Journalists Associations, 20 Inter-Associations, 218 affiliated Associations; of which, there are 17 members and journalists from provinces and cities in the Southwest region participating in the Returning to the Source program organized by the Central Office of the Association on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
Also at the ceremony, comrade Vu Thi Ha, Head of the Association's Working Committee (Vietnam Journalists Association) announced the Decisions of the Vietnam Journalists Association on awarding membership cards of the Vietnam Journalists Association for the period 2021 - 2026 to 17 journalists from the provinces and cities of Can Tho, Kien Giang, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu.

Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: This is an event that is not large in scale and does not have a large number of reporters, but it is an event of special significance, held on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
Especially in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune, ATK Dinh Hoa, Thai Nguyen province, a place of historical significance for Vietnamese journalists, 73 years ago on April 21, 1950, the first Congress of Vietnamese journalists established the Association of Vietnamese Journalists, now the Vietnam Journalists Association. This can be said to be the sacred land of journalists, this is the cradle of revolutionary journalists, the origin and roots of Vietnamese journalists.
Leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association and delegates visited the monument where the Vietnam Journalists Association was founded.
This has a truly special meaning and moreover, the Vietnam Journalists Association awards membership cards to journalists working in press and media agencies in some southern provinces, the farthest part of the country. Many people are returning to the resistance capital for the first time, with a journey back to the source, especially in a place where the Vietnam Journalists Association was born. Therefore, today's card awarding ceremony has an even more special meaning.
Journalist Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized: "For young reporters who are awarded journalist membership cards this time, it is considered a milestone, an unforgettable memory, they will carry this mark throughout their career. I hope this will be the motivation for each journalist to continue to uphold the tradition of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists, continue to learn from previous journalists, preserve and promote the values of their ancestors, and continue to contribute to the development of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism."
