(GLO)- On May 30, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province issued Decision No. 624/QD-UBND on giving unexpected rewards to athlete Le Thi Nhi who won a gold medal at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.
Accordingly, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Truong Hai Long decided to award a Certificate of Merit to athlete Le Thi Nhi for the above achievement. At the same time, the province's emulation and reward fund was used to reward 50 million VND to the 20-year-old female boxer.
This is a worthy reward for the efforts and determination of Kickboxer Le Thi Nhi when she won a gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games in the women's 50 kg light contact category. This is the first gold medal of Gia Lai sports at a SEA Games. Previously, the highest achievement of a Gia Lai athlete was a bronze medal, also won by Le Thi Nhi at the 31st SEA Games.

The sudden reward for athlete Le Thi Nhi shows the provincial leaders' concern for the province's sports. This is to encourage and motivate not only Le Thi Nhi but also other athletes to strive for high results in domestic and international tournaments in the coming time.
Previously, Le Thi Nhi received a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial Youth Union and a Certificate of Merit from the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism with her historic gold medal.
