Funeral of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha - Wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap

On September 28, the funeral of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha - Wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap - was held at the National Funeral Home (No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi).

Visitation time is from 12:00 to 15:30 on September 28. Memorial service will be held at 15:30 on the same day.

General Secretary and President To Lam sent a wreath to pay respect to Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and many leaders and former leaders of the Party and State sent wreaths to pay their respects to the wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong visited Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha.

Writing in the condolence book, Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong wrote: "Deeply mourning the passing of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha - Wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap. I respectfully send my deepest condolences to the entire family."

The delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee led by Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, paid their respects. "Deeply mourning Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha - Wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap. Her passing is a great loss, leaving behind boundless grief that nothing can compensate for for her family and relatives," Mr. Tran Quang Phuong wrote in the condolence book.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha offered incense to pay respect to Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc came to burn incense and send condolences to the family.

"With deep sorrow and respect, I pay my respects to Ms. Dang Bich Ha. She is an exemplary and respected example of Vietnamese women," Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc wrote in the condolence book.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai and the Hanoi delegation visited Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai wrote in the condolence book: "The City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi deeply mourn Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha - Wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap. Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha's passing leaves behind boundless grief for all cadres, party members and people of the capital.

On behalf of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, I would like to say goodbye to Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha and send my deepest condolences to the entire family.

Ms. Dinh Thi Mai, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, and the Central Propaganda Department delegation visited Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha.

Many delegations representing central departments, Hanoi City, Quang Binh Province, international delegations, relatives and friends of General Vo Nguyen Giap's family... came to burn incense and pay their respects to Ms. Dang Bich Ha.

A representative of General Vo Nguyen Giap's family said that during her lifetime, Ms. Dang Bich Ha lived a simple life, so when organizing her funeral, the family also held it in a solemn and simple manner. The funeral organizing committee prepared wreaths in advance for visiting delegations and the family did not accept condolences.

The memorial service for Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha will be held at 3:30 p.m. the same day. The burial will be held on the morning of September 29 at Vung Chua - Yen Island, Quang Trach District, Quang Binh Province - where General Vo Nguyen Giap is resting.

Mrs. Dang Bich Ha - Wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap - passed away on September 17, at the age of 96. During her lifetime, she was the spiritual support and solid support of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

As both husband and wife and close friends, General Vo Nguyen Giap and his wife Dang Bich Ha are an example of building a family together, using it as a solid and steady foundation to successfully complete the glorious mission assigned by the Fatherland and the people.

They have four children: Vo Hoa Binh, Vo Hanh Phuc, Vo Dien Bien and Vo Hong Nam.
