The 2nd Durian Festival of Krong Pac District in 2024 will be held at the end of August.

On the afternoon of January 4, the Standing Committee of the Krong Pac District Party Committee held an (expanded) conference to give opinions on the draft project of the 2nd Durian Festival of Krong Pac District in 2024, chaired by Secretary of the District Party Committee Tran Hong Tien.

Following the success of the first Durian Festival of Krong Pac District in 2022 and promoting the brand of durian as well as other crops; promoting the potential and strengths of the district to attract investment, the People's Committee of Krong Pac District decided to organize the second Durian Festival of Krong Pac District in 2024.

According to the draft project, the theme of this festival is "Elevating the brand of Krong Pac durian"; the festival will be held from August 31 to September 2. The festival includes the following contents: Opening ceremony, fireworks display; Conference on improving the quality standards of Krong Pac agricultural products; Fair to introduce and connect trade of agricultural products, OCOP products (One Commune One Product Program) of Krong Pac district; cultural activities, tourism promotion (including: cultural and sports festival of ethnic groups; expanded Central Highlands culinary culture festival of Krong Pac district; visiting the historical and cultural relic site of CADA Plantation, CADA Temple, and the wharf; experiencing and enjoying the taste of durian; light festival; Ao Dai and ethnic costumes performance; festival response activities); Closing ceremony.

At the conference, delegates contributed many ideas revolving around the content of the project, such as: reviewing the festival's theme name; changing the organization of the conference to organizing a workshop, focusing on inviting experts and scientists to discuss with farmers, cooperatives, local leaders... on issues of building a sustainable durian ecosystem. Regarding the fair, it is necessary to focus on displaying durian products in an open space.

For cultural activities and tourism promotion, it is necessary to review the content and organization method, in which the highlight is durian, organize tours to connect points in order to attract tourists and bring better promotional effects; cultural and sports events need to mobilize the participation of all classes of people, especially durian farmers, so that they can see that the festival belongs to the people, to honor durian growers... In addition, pay attention to promoting communication work before the festival to attract the attention of all classes of people inside and outside the province, especially communication about the Krong Pac durian brand...

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the District Party Committee Tran Hong Tien emphasized: this is a major local activity, therefore, the agencies assigned to preside over the project must quickly complete the second Durian Festival Project of Krong Pac District in 2024; complete the detailed plan and program of the festival's contents, budget estimates... before February 5. Communes and towns must establish a festival steering committee to develop a separate local activity to respond to the festival...
