BHG - Joining the joyful and proud atmosphere of the whole country towards the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on the evening of April 24, at the Old Quarter stage of Dong Van town, Dong Van District People's Committee organized the 10th Mong Panpipe Festival in 2025. Attending the festival were comrades: Vuong Ngoc Ha, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Tien Dung, Secretary of Dong Van District Party Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches, and districts of the province. Also attending the festival were actors, artisans, and a large number of people in the district and tourists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Mr. Do Quoc Huong, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Dong Van District People's Committee emphasized: Dong Van is the core district of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark with many famous relics, heritages and scenic spots. Dong Van is also known for its unique and distinctive cultural features of the ethnic communities, of which the Mong people are the foundation. For the Mong people, the Khen is not only a musical instrument but has become a symbol, a unique and traditional cultural feature; the Khen dance art of the Mong people in Ha Giang province has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage. The 10th Mong Khen Festival with many unique and attractive activities promises to bring visitors impressive experiences. The festival also creates opportunities for Khen artisans in the whole district to meet, exchange and share experiences; at the same time, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people. This is also an opportunity to promote and introduce the image, homeland, people, culture, and typical products of Dong Van to domestic and international friends, promoting the development of tourism and services in the area.

At the opening ceremony, delegates and visitors enjoyed an art program with the theme "The sound of the Khen calling friends" including unique singing and dancing performances imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups living together on the Dong Van Stone Plateau such as: Traditional Khen performance; Mong dance "Happy festival"; "New sunshine" dance; Con fruit dance; bronze drum and bamboo stick dance "Lo Lo Chai Village"; "Dawn on the rock" dance. In particular, this year's festival also had the participation of the Phu Ninh District Art Troupe, Yunnan Province (China) and street parade art performances recreating the daily life and labor and production activities of people in communes and towns in the area.

Through the festival, the spirit of solidarity among ethnic groups is promoted and socio-economic development is promoted, political security and social order and safety are maintained; at the same time, the unique traditional cultural values of the Mong ethnic group in the district are preserved and promoted. Thereby, it contributes to the effective implementation of resolutions and projects of the province and district in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
