Quang Nam fellow countrymen festival will focus on promoting smart tourism, green tourism

Speaking at the Press Conference, Mr. Pham Ngoc Sinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Industry of Quang Nam province, said that from the success of the program "Quang Nam Fellow Countrymen Cultural Days" in 2023, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province decided to upgrade the scale of this program to "Quang Nam Fellow Countrymen Festival in Ho Chi Minh City".

Mr. Nguyen Hong Lai, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Nam shared information about the Quang Nam Compatriots Festival 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2024, this activity will expand not only to cultural, culinary, and entertainment activities, but above all, Quang Nam will also have many investment, trade, service, culinary, and startup promotion activities in Ho Chi Minh City to strengthen the connection between businesses and investors with representatives of the Quang Nam provincial government.

"In the tourism sector, the Festival will focus on promoting smart tourism, green tourism of the sea, mountains and forests and digital craft villages (different from the previous message of Quang Nam - a world heritage destination)," Mr. Pham Ngoc Sinh emphasized.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Lai, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Nam, the Quang Nam Fellow Countrymen Festival 2024 is jointly organized by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province and the Quang Nam Fellow Countrymen Association in Ho Chi Minh City. From 2024, this festival will be held annually, creating opportunities for Quang Nam people in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces to meet, exchange, promote investment, have fun and enjoy the "specialties" of their hometown Quang Nam.

Mr. Mai Phuc, Chairman of the Quang Nam Association in Ho Chi Minh City, said that currently, there are more than 1 million Quang Nam people working, studying and living in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces.

Quang Nam is currently promoting green tourism and smart tourism.

Coming to this festival, people will enjoy unique cultural and artistic programs such as Quang Nam folk songs, Nam Tra My gong performances, Hoi An card singing... from art troupes from Quang Nam to Ho Chi Minh City to perform, including many people from the Co Tu ethnic group; as well as introducing many specialties of Quang Nam province such as: Hoi An chicken rice, Phu Chiem Quang noodles, Que Son cassava noodles, xu xoa... and many dishes that remind people of their childhood far from home.

Along with that, there are many other activities such as the Investment Promotion Conference on Quang Nam in 2024; national startup forum; creative startup festival; displaying and introducing typical products of Quang Nam and promoting trade;...

And especially, at this festival, Quang Nam province supports fellow Quang Nam people in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces to issue and exchange driver's licenses and citizen identification cards with simplified procedures, made and received within the day.

As planned, the Quang Nam Festival in Ho Chi Minh City will take place from July 18 to 21 at the Tan Binh District Cultural and Sports Center (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City).
