After the ceremony of presenting the congratulatory message, the provincial leaders and many tourists from all over reviewed the process of raising the uprising flag and the merits of the heroine Trieu Thi Trinh and those who contributed to the history of building and defending the country.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Pham Nguyen Hong read a speech affirming the role and significance of the Ba Trieu uprising.
National Heroine Trieu Thi Trinh (also known as Trieu Trinh Nuong, Ba Trieu) was born on October 2, Binh Ngo year (AD 226) in Quan Yen mountain area (in Yen Dinh district).
Hating the brutal invaders, Lady Trieu and her brother Trieu Quoc Dat raised the flag of uprising, which was enthusiastically supported by people everywhere. From her hometown Quan Yen, she and her army crossed the Chu River to Nua Mountain (Nong Cong, Trieu Son) to build a base, accumulate food and establish a long-term base for the uprising. In 247, from Nua Mountain, her army attacked Tu Pho citadel and won a complete victory. On the momentum of victory, the army advanced to Bo Dien (Trieu Loc commune, Hau Loc district) and together with the local people built a long-term base for the resistance.
Faced with the spirit and courage of a girl in her early 20s, the people of Cuu Chan (Thanh Hoa) eagerly joined her army. From the Bo Dien base, the army attacked the Wu enemy's citadels and hamlets, causing the enemy, from the Governor to the District Governor and soldiers, to be killed or to flee in panic.
Frightened by the prestige and strength of Lady Trieu's army, the Ngo Dynasty sent Luc Dan, a notoriously cruel general, along with 8,000 soldiers and many ships to aggressively crush the uprising. Due to the imbalance of forces, in a fierce battle, Lady Trieu heroically committed suicide, to the regret and admiration of the people, on February 22, Mau Thin year (248).
1776 years have passed, but the indomitable spirit of the Ba Trieu uprising, along with the heroic sacrifice of National Hero Trieu Thi Trinh, has always been the pride and admiration of the people of Thanh Hoa in particular and the whole country in general. At the same time, the precious values of the Ba Trieu Temple Festival have always been preserved, passed down and promoted by the people.
Every year, during the 3 days from the 19th to the 22nd of the second lunar month, a large number of tourists from all over the country gather in Phu Dien village, Trieu Loc commune, Hau Loc district to join the Ba Trieu Temple Festival.
