On March 30, the People's Committee of Ha Giang province coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Tourism Association to organize the Workshop "Positioning and building the tourism brand of Ha Giang province in regional linkage".

Attending the workshop were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Director of Vietnam National Tourism Administration Ha Van Sieu, Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Vietnam; representative of the Korea Tourism Organization Office in Vietnam; representative of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam.

On the side of Ha Giang province, there were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duc Quy, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Hong Hai; leaders of departments, branches and localities.

Strengthening and expanding development cooperation in regional linkages

At the workshop, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong requested the Steering Committee for Tourism Development of localities to direct and proactively develop practical action plans, ensuring solutions and removal of obstacles to promote tourism development advantages. The Ha Giang tourism industry coordinates and cooperates with relevant units to propose new policies in line with the reality and development trends of the country and the world .

The Deputy Minister suggested that the Vietnam Tourism Association and local tourism associations promote their role in connecting the tourism business community with other relevant associations and professional associations, and consult with competent authorities. At the same time, they should promote their proactive role in participating in and organizing tourism product development activities, training to improve the professional skills of tourism workers, and tourism promotion activities.

Guide and support tourism businesses in converting activities suitable for tourism in the new situation, promote activities to recover and rapidly develop Vietnam tourism; promptly synthesize opinions of the tourism business community to propose and recommend to competent authorities to resolve difficulties and problems.

Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said that in order to develop tourism service providers and tourism business communities, we need to promote dynamism, creativity, and a driving force, proactively consulting in tourism recovery. We need to promote connections, support cooperation, overcome difficulties together, innovate business models, restructure businesses associated with digital transformation, innovation, and creativity.

Agreeing with the orientation of Ha Giang tourism development in the Ha Giang Tourism Development Plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the Deputy Minister emphasized that Ha Giang has correctly identified taking culture to develop tourism, taking tourism to develop culture; developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector and in a professional, effective, green and sustainable direction; strengthening and expanding development cooperation in regional linkages.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duc Quy said that the Ha Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has been approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1339. In addition, the province has implemented many solutions to invest in infrastructure, strengthen management, preserve culture and promote programs. Up to now, the tourism image of Ha Giang province has been affirmed as a brand with its own unique characteristics.

The province aims to recognize Dong Van Stone Plateau as a national tourist area by 2030, attracting 5 million tourists; total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND20,600 billion, contributing 14.34% of tourism value to the total product in the area; creating jobs for more than 20,000 direct workers.

The workshop "Positioning and building Ha Giang tourism brand in the new period" was divided into 2 discussion sessions: Positioning and building Ha Giang tourism brand; Managing and developing Ha Giang tourism brand with the participation of speakers who are domestic and foreign tourism experts, economic experts, tourism managers, tourism trainers, and tourism businesses.

At the discussion session, Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu said that by exploiting core values, unique tourism products, in a green and sustainable direction, Ha Giang's remarkable progress in recent times has affirmed the position of Ha Giang tourism on the tourism map of the country and the world. The development trend of Ha Giang tourism is completely consistent with the trend of Vietnam and the world, in the direction of digital transformation and green transformation for sustainable development.

Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh said that the majestic landscape of Ha Giang is the unique, largest and strongest value to compete with other destinations in the country and the world. From there, it helps the province find key tourism products based on majestic nature and unique culture. In addition, the quality of services and the mindset of tourism workers in Ha Giang also need to be paid attention to and trained, so that tourism workers can express Ha Giang culture and the characteristics of Ha Giang people, thereby attracting tourists.

Also at the workshop, tourism experts and delegates contributed ideas and proposed solutions to build, manage and develop Ha Giang tourism brand; focusing on issues such as: Investment solutions and attracting tourism investment, ensuring capacity and ability to receive and serve international tourists; solutions to improve state management capacity and enforcement of tourism development policies and laws; current status of infrastructure resources serving the branding and development of Ha Giang tourism destinations; solutions to build Ha Giang tourism brand associated with the image of the Stone Plateau...

Ceremony to announce tourism products linking two global geoparks.

Within the framework of the workshop, the Award Ceremony of the contest "Judging typical delicious dishes of provinces and cities" took place for units participating in the 1st Ha Giang International Culture, Tourism and Cuisine Festival in 2024. The ceremony to announce tourism products linked between 2 Global Geoparks including: Dong Van Stone Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark and Cao Bang Non Nuoc UNESCO Global Geopark.

As a mountainous province in the northernmost part of the country with harsh natural conditions, Ha Giang has turned difficulties into development opportunities. Ha Giang people have lived on rocks, escaped poverty from rocks and are getting rich from rocks. With the advantage of majestic natural landscapes, along with a rich and diverse system of geological heritage, historical and cultural relics in recent years, Ha Giang province has strengthened connections with domestic and international localities to promote tourism development associated with preserving and promoting the heritage and cultural identity of ethnic groups.

In addition, Ha Giang is known as a land endowed by nature with many typical products such as: Mint honey, Oranges, precious medicinal herbs; and most of all, Tay Con Linh ancient Shan Tuyet tea.
