It is known that the month of action is a highlight, creating a communication campaign for gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence across the province; attracting attention, promoting the role, responsibility and proactive participation of individuals, families, communities, agencies and organizations in ensuring social security, strengthening the power of women and girls to promote gender equality and prevent and respond to violence and abuse against women and children.

Specific activities include: strengthening education on knowledge and skills to protect and prevent violence and abuse for women and children, family members, people working in gender equality and children. Minimizing and eventually ending violence and abuse against women and children; promoting prevention, detection and prevention, and timely handling of cases of violence and abuse against women and children. The planning and implementation of activities for the Action Month need to be flexible to suit the actual situation at agencies, units, and localities. Strengthening the application of information technology in propaganda, dissemination of laws, policies and implementation of activities in response to the Action Month.
Organize activities during the Action Month: Organize the Launching Ceremony of the Action Month for Gender Equality and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence in 2023 in appropriate forms such as: Rallying, parades at headquarters of agencies, schools, main roads, public places, central and densely populated areas. In addition, organize forums, dialogues, seminars, workshops, and training courses on topics related to the theme of the Action Month 2023; disseminate policies to ensure social security for people in general and women and children in particular, and the role of empowering women and girls in promoting gender equality. Organize competitions on the topics of gender equality and gender-based violence (legal research, composition, dramatization, excellent propagandist performances), cultural and sports exchanges, etc.
Implement digitalization in communication through social networks (facebook, fanpage...) to reach more people, especially young people, students... to spread gender equality and prevent and combat gender-based violence more strongly, empowering women and girls. Publish communication products on social security policies, the role of women, gender equality and prevention and response to violence and abuse against women and children.
Strengthen inspection forms on gender equality and women's advancement at agencies, units and localities during the Action Month. Strictly handle violations of gender equality, prevention and control of gender-based violence and in the implementation of policies to support social security. Send news and articles on the implementation of the Action Month at agencies, units and localities to post on the electronic information pages of the province, People's Committees at all levels, the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and other press agencies.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said: In order for the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence to truly spread to all people, the Provincial People's Committee has directed all levels and sectors to increase propaganda about the topic and activities through the mass media.
The leaders of the Provincial People's Committee also requested all levels and sectors to concretize the Action Month through organizing forums, dialogues, seminars, workshops, and training on related content; focusing on propagating support policies, ensuring social security for people in general and women and children in particular. Relevant sectors and socio-political organizations organize competitions and contests on the topics of gender equality and gender-based violence (legal research, composition, dramatization, excellent propagandist performances), cultural and sports exchanges. In addition, localities promote activities to support victims, women and children in difficult circumstances and promptly commend outstanding collectives and individuals in gender equality work in general and the Action Month 2023 in particular.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Lao Cai province, added: During the Action Month, 19 messages and slogans will be sent out with the hope of continuing to reduce and eventually end violence and abuse against women and children; mobilizing the entire population to actively participate in the work of preventing, detecting, stopping and promptly handling cases of violence and abuse against women and children.
