Territory under continuous attack, Russian Defense Minister issues new directive

"An attempt by the Kyiv authorities to carry out terrorist attacks using 19 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the territory of the Russian Federation was thwarted. Air defense means on duty intercepted and destroyed two UAVs over the Kursk region, five over the Bryansk region, four over the Oryol region, two in the Krasnodar region and six over the Black Sea," the Russian Defense Ministry said, according to TASS news agency.

Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz confirmed that there were no casualties or damage on the ground. Oryol Governor Andrey Klychkov said that the UAVs targeted fuel and energy facilities and caused no casualties.

Earlier, Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of Russia's Belgorod region, wrote on his Telegram channel on February 8 that five people were injured, about 20 houses, more than 50 cars and a production facility were damaged by Ukrainian armed forces shelling the province within 24 hours, according to TASS.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force announced this morning, February 9, that its air defense forces had destroyed 10 out of 16 UAVs launched by Russia from the Crimean peninsula and the Kursk region on the night of February 8-9, according to The Kyiv Independent. Ukrainian forces shot down these UAVs in the Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kharkiv provinces. The Ukrainian Air Force did not mention casualties or damage.

The attacks took place as the Russia-Ukraine conflict has been going on for more than 715 days with no signs of abating.

During a recent visit to the military operation headquarters, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu gave instructions to ensure continuous supplies for soldiers in the military operation zone.

There is currently no information about the reaction of Ukraine or Russia to each side's new accusations and statements.
