According to China Daily , Mr. Li Kexin, director of the Department of International Economic Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said that representatives from more than 130 countries and more than 30 international organizations have confirmed plans to attend the forum.
Mr. Li pointed out that this forum is not only the largest event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the implementation of the BRI initiative, but also an important platform to discuss BRI cooperation. The events include an opening ceremony, three high-level forums, six thematic forums, and a business conference.
BRI is a plan for global energy and infrastructure networks that China launched 10 years ago, aiming to connect Asia with Africa and Europe via land and sea routes.
On October 10, the Chinese government released a white paper on BRI to mark the 10th anniversary of the initiative's implementation.
The white paper said that since its implementation, the BRI has developed "from ideas to actions, from vision to reality, and from general framework to specific projects".
According to the Global Times , as of June 2023, China has signed more than 200 BRI cooperation agreements with more than 150 countries and 30 international organizations.
Data in the white paper shows that from 2013 to 2022, total two-way investment between China and its partner countries reached 380 billion USD, of which 240 billion USD came from China.
Many leaders came to Beijing to attend the forum. Among them were President Vo Van Thuong, Russian President Vladimir Putin , new Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, new Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban...
