In Soc Son district, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Trinh Van Nam, residing in Block 10, Phu Lo commune. Mr. Nam was born in 1931, joined the army for 6 years (enlisted in 1953; discharged in 1959), belonged to the Independence Regiment, Division 268, and directly took over the capital on October 10, 1954. After being discharged from the army, Mr. Nam returned to his hometown to live with his family; always strictly followed the Party's policies and the State's laws.
Next, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Van Me, residing in Thuy Huong, Phu Cuong commune. Mr. Me was born in 1921 and received the 75-year Party membership badge. Mr. Me joined the army for 30 years (from March 1947 to July 1977) in Battalion 079, Pioneer Division 308, was the Deputy Commander of C281 and C277, Battalion Headquarters 079, which took over the French and Bach Mai engineering camps. In July 1977, he retired, lived and worked locally.
In Me Linh district, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, residing in Chi Dong commune. Mr. Loc was born in 1930 and received the 70-year Party membership badge. He participated in the resistance war from December 1946 to October 10, 1954, including participating in the resistance war at the Nam Dinh Viet Minh Provincial Committee, Military Zone 4 and the Central Youth Volunteers Union.
He participated in the local youth and national salvation movement from the early days of the resistance war in 1945 until the 1950s and early 1960s of the 20th century. He then worked as a staff member in several departments at Hanoi Medical University and retired in March 1983.
At the families he visited, Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee Nguyen Doan Toan kindly asked about the health and daily life of the veterans and those who had contributed to the revolution. At the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude to the predecessors who fought hard, devoted themselves, and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and directly participated in the liberation of the Capital on October 10, 1954. After being discharged from the army and returning to their localities, these individuals always strived to develop their family economy, contributing to the construction of their homeland, always being a shining example for the younger generation and the people to follow.
The Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee said that on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, Hanoi organized many practical activities to educate the younger generation about traditions, show gratitude to those who contributed to the revolution, families of policy beneficiaries, veterans, and former youth volunteers. At the same time, he wished the veterans, those who contributed to the revolution and their families good health, always following the development of the Capital and the country; actively participating in movements, contributing to building a prosperous locality.
On this occasion, representatives of the families respectfully thanked and expressed their joy and emotion at the attention and encouragement of Hanoi City as well as the leaders of Soc Son and Me Linh districts. Representatives of the families affirmed that they will always be at the forefront of emulation movements, setting an example in encouraging their children and grandchildren to develop production, and build their homeland to be increasingly rich, beautiful, and civilized...
