Can Tho City leaders meet with dignitaries, monks and prestigious people among Khmer people

Speaking at the meeting, the leader of Can Tho city said that in the first months of 2024, the Party Committee, government and people of the city have promoted the spirit of solidarity, efforts and struggles to carry out socio-economic development tasks and achieved many important results.

The city's achievements demonstrate the combined strength and consensus of the entire political system and people of the city, including the active contributions of venerable monks, venerable monks, venerable monks, achar monks, prestigious people and a large number of Khmer people in the city.

The Association also coordinated with the City's Religious Committee to organize a conference to disseminate legal policies to Khmer Theravada Buddhist dignitaries, officials, and monks from September 11-13, 2024; attend the closing ceremony of the Military-Civilian New Year to celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay in 2024. Khmer Theravada Buddhism traditionally organizes the rainy season ceremony for monks on the 16th day of the 6th lunar month. Organize the closing ceremony of the course and grant certificates to 218 students of the 3-month Khmer language classes in the summer of the 2024 school year.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the Association will meet with monks, Achar, and the Temple Management Board to celebrate the Sene Dolta festival to worship the ancestors of the Khmer ethnic group. This year, the temples will organize according to tradition and customs. Develop a plan for mini-ngo boat racing in 2024. Propose financial support for athletes to practice and compete in the large-scale Ngo boat race at Settodor Pagoda (Co Do District) according to ethnic policies.
