(GLO)-On the afternoon of May 25, the first-instance trial panel of the Provincial People's Court sentenced defendant Vu Ngoc Linh (born in 1985, residing in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) to 20 years in prison and Nguyen Thanh Hai (born in 1988, residing in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City) to 18 years in prison for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".

According to the case file, Linh, Hai and Dinh Hoang Bao An (born in 1989, residing in Chu Se town, Chu Se district) are friends. On January 16, 2021, because he needed drugs to sell to others, An contacted Linh and Hai to sell him more than 508.98 grams of Ketamine for VND 215.3 million.
After that, the two sides agreed to let Hai transport all the drugs from Ho Chi Minh City to Gia Lai to deliver to An. After receiving more than 508.98 grams of Ketamine, An continued to transport it to Chu Se district. However, while selling drugs to others, An was discovered and arrested by the authorities.
Dinh Hoang Bao An was brought to trial by the Provincial People's Court on April 22, 2022, with a sentence of 16 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking".
