I am 40 years old, recently my period is often late, I feel hot, irritable, have a lot of acne, and sometimes have trouble sleeping.
Do I have hormonal imbalance causing these symptoms? (Thuy An, Long An)

Female hormone imbalance is a condition in which hormones increase above or decrease below normal levels. Hormones are produced by glands in the endocrine system and play an important role in cells, tissues, and organs. Hormones help regulate many functions in the body such as: regulating body temperature, metabolism, mood, heart rate, sleep, reproductive cycle, and body development.
Hormone levels in women often change at times such as: before or during menstruation, pregnancy or menopause. Female hormone imbalances are often found in hormones (adrenaline, steroids), growth hormone, insulin, estrogen or progesterone.
Fatigue, bloating, weight gain, mood swings, and increased body temperature are just some of the common symptoms of female hormone imbalance. Irregular or absent periods are also caused by hormonal imbalance, which can affect your mood, concentration, health, work performance, and relationships with others.
There are many different signs of female hormone imbalance including: night sweats, decreased sex drive, mood swings, trouble sleeping, depression, changes in appetite, deepening of the voice, changes in heart rate, facial swelling, headaches, bloating, weight gain or loss. Some women may experience more or less frequent urination, dry skin, dermatitis, enlarged neck, weak bones, thinning hair, hair loss, sweating, changes in blood sugar or sensitivity to temperature, thirst, vision problems, enlarged or dry clitoris, and persistent fatigue.

About 80% of women experience hormonal imbalance at some point in their lives. Female hormonal imbalance occurs with health problems such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or endometriosis. Therefore, patients need to better understand the causes of hormonal disorders to improve this condition. If there are abnormal signs in the body, patients should see an Endocrinologist - Diabetes specialist for examination and appropriate treatment to better protect their health.
