This morning, January 10, NCB Bank announced an online interest rate table with many skyrocketing interest rates. This interest rate table has been adjusted back to the level from mid-July 2023.

Specifically, the 1-5 month term simultaneously jumped to the ceiling of 4.75%/year after increasing by 0.5%/year.

Notably, after a sharp increase of 1.85%, the 6-7 month term increased to 7.2%/year and the 8-9 month term increased to 7.3%/year. The 10-11 month term increased by 1.9% to 7.35%/year.

At NCB, the highest interest rate is for 12 and 13 month terms, up to 7.5%/year (an increase of 1.8% compared to before). For 15-18 month terms, the interest rate increased by 1.4% to 7.4%/year. For 24-30 month terms, the new interest rate is 7.3%/year, for 36 and 60 month terms, it is 7.2% and 7.1%/year, respectively.

However, after changing the Deposit Interest Rate Table, by the end of the morning of the same day, this bank changed the new Interest Rate Table with different interest rates.

Informing VietNamNet, NCB explained that the update of the unusually high interest rate table early in the morning was a "technical error" during the process of updating the new interest rate table, leading to the bank's website displaying the interest rate table from July 15, 2023.

Accordingly, the old interest rate schedule will be applied from July 15, 2023 with interest rates ranging from 4.75% (1-5 month term) to 7.5%/year (12-13 month term) as above.

According to the newly updated mobilization interest rate table immediately after that, the mobilization interest rate at NCB decreased by 0.2%/year for 1-month term to 4.05%/year, and decreased by 0.1%/year for 2-month term to 4.15%/year.

Interest rates for the remaining terms remain unchanged from yesterday. This is also the interest rate that will be maintained from November 20, 2023.

Specifically, the interest rate for 3-5 month term deposits is still 4.25%/year, the interest rate for online deposits for 6-8 month term deposits is 5.35%/year, the interest rate for 9-11 month term deposits is 5.45%/year, the interest rate for 12 month term deposits is 5.7%/year, the interest rate for 13 month term deposits is 5.8%/year and the interest rate for 15-60 month term deposits is 6%/year.

NCB has also updated the traditional savings interest rate table to the old level. Accordingly, the interest rate for 6-8 month term is 5.2%/year, 9-11 month term is 5.3%/year, 12 month term is 5.55%/year, 13 month term is 5.65%/year, and 15-60 month term is 5.85%/year.

An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBank) adjusted interest rates down for terms of 1-11 months but increased for the remaining terms.

Accordingly, the 1-5 month term is reduced by 0.05%/year. Currently, the interest rate for 1 month is 3.15%/year, 2 months is 3.25%/year, 3-5 months is 3.35%/year. With a reduction of 0.1-0.3%/year, the 6-month term is 5%/year, 7-8 months is 4.8%/year, 9-11 months is 4.4%/year.
