Previously, when competing in Vietnam, Ngo Lan Huong had almost no rivals when she won the domestic championship 10 times and the Asian championship twice.
This female chess player is considered to have very strong offensive moves and is capable of causing difficulties for the chess powers in the region.
In 2012, Ngo Lan Huong married Khang Duc Vinh, a former Chinese chess player who was then the Secretary General of the Singapore Chess Federation.
By 2021, she had completed the procedures to become a Singaporean citizen and also officially joined the chess team of the lion island nation.
At the 31st SEA Games, chess player Ngo Lan Huong set a goal of winning gold but in the end she only got a bronze medal.
However, at the tournament in Cambodia, the female player born in 1979 excellently won the highest position in the women's individual standard chess event.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's chess team with two names, Le Thi Kim Loan and Dam Thi Thuy Dung, are not playing well.
Chess player Nguyen Hoang Yen, who won all three gold medals in standard, rapid, and blitz chess at the 2023 National Championship and also won the training tournament before the 32nd SEA Games, was suddenly removed from the list of participants in the 2023 Southeast Asian Games.
In the men's individual standard chess event, Lai Ly Huynh still affirmed his talent with a gold medal.
