
Dai Cuong is known as a heroic commune, leading the movement to fight against invaders to protect the country. On July 5, 1947, La Nga Party Cell (the predecessor of Dai Cuong Commune Party Committee) was established. From here, the locality had a pioneering party organization, which was the nucleus leading the people to continue to enter the resistance war against French colonialism.
At the end of 1954, the US - Diem regime began to establish a reactionary government. They cut off 3 villages of Dai Minh commune and part of Duy My commune, Duy Xuyen district to establish Loc Phuoc commune for easier management and governance.
During the 21-year resistance war against the US to save the country, the army and people of Dai Cuong commune fought hundreds of large and small battles, destroying many enemy forces. On August 30, 1995, the President awarded the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to the people and the armed forces of Dai Cuong commune to recognize the above outstanding achievements.

Over the past 50 years, the army and people of Dai Cuong commune have written new pages in the history of building and developing their homeland. From a commune mainly producing agriculture, Dai Cuong's economic structure has shifted in a positive direction, gradually increasing the proportion of industry and services. Agriculture is shifting strongly towards the production of goods with high economic value.
Dai Cuong focuses on investing in building many rural roads to villages and hamlets, and electricity, irrigation systems, schools, medical stations, community centers, etc. are invested in a systematic manner, contributing to creating the appearance of a new rural commune.
