Rare monitor lizard and wild cat stray into a house in TT-Hue

On the afternoon of July 4, according to news from the Phu Vang District Forest Protection Department (TT-Hue Province), this agency has just received a rare wild cat voluntarily handed over by a local resident.

The person who handed over the wild cat was Mr. Tran Thanh Hoa (residing in Vinh Thanh commune, Phu Vang district).

Previously, Mr. Hoa caught a wild cat when it strayed into his garden and contacted the Phu Vang District Forest Protection Department to hand it over and release it back into the wild.

This wild cat weighs 3kg and is in normal health. According to Phu Vang district forest rangers, this is an endangered, precious, and rare wild animal belonging to group IIB.

Also on the afternoon of July 4, information from the Hue City Forest Protection Department said that this agency had just received a rare monitor lizard handed over by local people.

Initial information said that on the morning of July 3, while playing in the yard, two children in Hue City discovered a monitor lizard running from the garden into the house.

The two children caught the animal and informed their relatives to hand it over to the authorities.

According to the Hue City Forest Protection Department, the monitor lizard handed over by the people weighed 4kg. The animal was identified as a rare monitor lizard, listed in the Vietnam and world Red Book, a wild animal that needs to be strictly preserved and protected.

After receiving the two rare animals mentioned above, the TT-Hue provincial forest rangers completed the procedures and released them back into the natural environment.
