(Dan Tri) - While on a business trip, Ms. Nga saw people selling an injured monkey, so she bought it to take care of and treat it. The woman later realized that this was a rare species, so she handed it over to the authorities.
On November 22, a representative of Vu Quang National Park (Ha Tinh) said that they had coordinated with forest rangers to receive a rare golden monkey handed over by a local resident.
Previously, during a business trip to Ky Anh district, Ms. Tran Thi Nga (37 years old, residing in Dong Mon commune, Ha Tinh city) accidentally saw people selling an injured monkey. Seeing that, Ms. Nga bought this animal to raise, care for and treat.

Some time later, the woman realized that this might be a rare animal that needed to be preserved, so she contacted Vu Quang National Park to hand it over.
According to the functional unit, this is a golden monkey weighing about 1kg, with the scientific name Macaca mulatta, belonging to group IIB, the list of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals.
Recently, Vu Quang National Park also received an individual owl (scientific name Strigidae, weighing 2.8 kg, belonging to the common animal group), handed over by a household in Bac Ha ward (Ha Tinh city).
After receiving them, Vu Quang National Park staff continued to monitor and care for the two animals to ensure their safety before releasing them back into the natural environment for conservation purposes.
Vu Quang National Park has an area of over 57,000 hectares, established on July 30, 2002 by the Prime Minister's decision. The park is located in the northwest of Ha Tinh province, 55km from Ha Tinh city, under the administrative area of 3 mountainous districts including Vu Quang, Huong Khe and Huong Son.
This place is known as one of the most biologically diverse centers in Vietnam, including many rare and endangered species that need priority conservation.
