Ethnic policies create positive changes
Krong No district belongs to the B4 resistance base - Inter-provincial IV, has the N'Trang Guh historical relic site and the volcanic cave system in the core area of the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark... The whole district has 11 communes and 1 town with 93 hamlets, villages, and residential groups; 52 hamlets, villages, and bons of ethnic minorities. Of which, 8 communes and 1 town belong to area I, 3 communes belong to area II.
In the period of 2016-2020, the whole district of Krong No has 28 villages, hamlets, and especially difficult hamlets. Looking back at the results of implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Congress of Delegates in 2019 of Krong No district during this period, with a total investment of hundreds of billions of VND, the district has prioritized the construction, step by step upgrading and completing infrastructure of roads, electricity, schools, stations; supporting livelihoods, housing, domestic water..., creating conditions for people to develop production, promoting the development of ethnic minority areas.
Accordingly, the appearance of ethnic minority villages and hamlets has changed. Up to now, the number of households using electricity has reached 99.6%; the rate of villages, hamlets and wards with national grid electricity is 100%; the rate of households using clean water has reached 98%, an increase of 4.6% compared to 2019; 46 schools from kindergarten to high school; 100% of wards and wards have community cultural activity houses...;
Typically, in Dak Dro commune, there are 8 hamlets, including 5 ethnic minority hamlets, the commune currently only has hamlet 9, which is a particularly difficult hamlet. According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Thieu, Chairman of Dak Dro commune People's Committee, hamlet 9 has 320 households, more than 1,300 people, of which 115 are ethnic minority households, most of them Mnong ethnic group. Here, transportation is limited, the terrain is steep, muddy, and moving during the rainy season is extremely difficult.
Faced with this reality, Dak Dro commune has prioritized investment to support Hamlet 9 to help people stabilize their lives and develop the economy. Specifically, from the capital of the National Target Program 1719, the main road to the hamlet has been invested in upgrading and expanding, with a total investment of 1.6 billion VND. Not only that, Hamlet 9 has also invested in building a community cultural house, supporting livestock and water tanks for poor households of ethnic minorities.
Thanks to infrastructure investment and economic development support, the appearance of Hamlet 9 has changed positively and people's lives have improved. Many households in the hamlet have built solid houses and purchased enough household items to meet their daily needs.
Towards no more extremely disadvantaged villages, hamlets and wards
