Practical work
The row of purple lagerstroemia trees stretching from the village gate to the communal house yard, the main road of the twinned units of Drai village, Ea Na commune, Krong Ana district has taken root and flourished. Taking us around the village, introducing the row of purple lagerstroemia trees, Mr. Y Krang Knul, Secretary of the Drai village Party Cell, smiled and said: This is the "Twinned Tree Row" consisting of 120 lagerstroemia trees that the district's Ethnic Affairs Department and twinned units gave to Drai village in early October 2024 to create a green - clean - beautiful landscape and raise awareness of protecting the environment together. Drai village has about 260 households, more than 1,000 people, mainly Ede ethnic people. People mainly engage in agricultural production, growing coffee and pepper, some young people work in industrial parks. The village has 7 sister units including the District Ethnic Affairs Office, Pham Van Dong High School, Le Hong Phong Primary School, Ea Tung Kindergarten, Ea Na Commune Veterans Association, Ea Tung village, Tan Thang village.
Identifying that twinning is not only a responsibility and obligation but also strengthens solidarity, the twinning units have organized many specific and practical activities to help and support the people of Drai village.
In addition to visiting and giving gifts to people in twinned villages on holidays and Tet, and providing material support to repair village facilities, twinned units also regularly organize exchanges to strengthen solidarity between the two sides.
Mr. Y Krang Knul, Secretary of the Party Cell of Drai village, shared: Thanks to the attention of the Party and the State, the village's infrastructure has been invested in, with convenient roads, solid community houses and spacious campuses for people to participate in cultural activities. According to the report of the Krong Ana District Party Committee: Over the past 20 years, agencies, units and enterprises have sent more than 13,649 officials to visit and grasp the situation in the twinned villages and have supported 4,252 gifts and necessities, with a total value of more than 2.7 billion VND. 15 rural traffic routes, 2 markets in ethnic minority areas, 11 community houses in particularly difficult villages and 1 intra-field canal of ethnic minority villages in the district have been built, with a total cost of 63 billion VND, contributing to raising the rate of concreting and hardening village and hamlet roads to 80.57%.
Integrating target programs and policies of ethnic minority areas. Every year, Krong Ana district organizes vocational training for 300 rural laborers in the district, raising the training rate to 61%. Up to now, 171 post-training models have been built and maintained.
Focusing on building models to change the thinking and working methods of ethnic minorities, associations and organizations have built dozens of models of livestock farming, cultivation, construction cooperatives, garment production... In addition, they have created conditions for 1,216 poor and near-poor households of ethnic minorities to borrow capital from banks.
Through twinning activities, agencies, units and localities pay attention to and understand the thoughts, aspirations and support situations for agricultural materials, seedlings, fertilizers, provide technical guidance and create conditions for people to access capital sources for economic development and enjoy policies according to regulations.
