According to the Food Safety Department, recently, some media reported that Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Company, Japan, recalled some products that pose a risk to consumers' health, including products being sold in the Vietnamese market.
Through reviewing the product declaration registration data, the Department has not yet issued a product declaration registration acceptance certificate/certificate of conformity to food safety regulations for the products: "Beni-koji choleste-help"; "Naishi-help plus cholesterol"; "Natto-kinase sarasara-tsubu gold" and Kobayashi Naishi Help 30 of Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Company, Japan.
"For the safety of users' health, consumers should not buy or use products with the above information.
In case these products are found circulating on the market, please notify the authorities for handling according to the provisions of law," the Food Safety Department recommends.
Previously, according to information from Mainichi - a Japanese daily newspaper, on March 22, Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Company, Japan (headquartered in Osaka) reported kidney disorders and other health damage in people who consumed their line of functional foods containing "beni-koji".
According to the report, so far 13 people (aged 40 to 70) have suffered health damage, of which 6 have been hospitalized; 2 have suffered kidney damage and temporarily had to undergo dialysis; 5 of the patients have been discharged from the hospital.
The company is voluntarily recalling products containing beni-koji and urging consumers to stop using these supplements.
