Immediately after the first General Election to elect the first National Assembly, on January 13, 1946, President Ho Chi Minh visited Bishop Le Huu Tu and the people of Phat Diem (Kim Son district). This was the first time Ninh Binh province had the honor of welcoming Uncle Ho.
When talking to his compatriots, he advised: "All Vietnamese people, whether Catholic or not, Buddhist or not, must fight for the independence of their country." He told his Catholic compatriots: "God sacrificed for humanity, people sacrificed and fought for humanity, and we sacrifice for the independence and freedom of our nation. Respect God but love your country. If the country is not independent, religion cannot be free, so we must make the country independent first."
Comrade Bui Thi Thuy, Head of the Propaganda Department of Kim Son District Party Committee, shared: The teachings of President Ho Chi Minh when he visited Kim Son at that time have always been the guiding principle for the actions of the Party Committee and the People of Kim Son. Over the past seven decades, generations of cadres, party members and people of Kim Son have upheld the revolutionary tradition, promoted internal strength, dynamism and creativity to overcome difficulties, achieved many achievements in all fields, and built Kim Son district to become increasingly innovative.
In particular, preserving and promoting the tradition of solidarity within the Party and solidarity between religions and non-religious people has become an important factor in building an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.
Accordingly, Party committees, authorities, agencies and units in the whole district have strengthened internal solidarity building, built the great national solidarity bloc, created consensus in society; strictly implemented the principles of democratic centralism, self-criticism and criticism in meetings, Party cell activities, agency and unit meetings; the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party committees, Party organizations and Party members have been increasingly improved; the role and responsibility of setting an example for cadres, Party members, civil servants and public employees, especially leaders, have had many positive changes.
In particular, implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo, Kim Son district has associated with the implementation of the annual working theme of the Provincial Party Committee and the Central Resolutions on Party building and rectification.
Accordingly, the Standing Committee of Kim Son District Party Committee unanimously selected the theme "Solidarity, discipline; urban infrastructure improvement, improving the quality of new rural construction" to direct and implement throughout the 2020-2025 term. "The decision to choose the above theme has shown the high determination of the Kim Son District Party Committee in solving the district's key political tasks.
After more than 3 years of implementing the Theme, there have been clear changes in awareness and action, especially the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and setting an example in performing public duties of the team of cadres, civil servants, public employees and heads of agencies, units and localities. Many agencies and units have innovated effective working methods.
Officials, civil servants and public employees have implemented discipline, order, innovation, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility. Key tasks such as: economic development, new rural construction; urban infrastructure improvement; resolving administrative procedures; handling land management issues... have been effectively directed and implemented by all levels, sectors and localities.
Thereby creating trust among the people in the leadership and direction of Party committees at all levels, the management and administration of authorities at all levels" - Comrade Head of Propaganda Department of Kim Son District Party Committee affirmed.
Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, a resident of Phu Vinh Street, Phat Diem Town, excitedly shared: Previously, the roads of Phu Vinh Street and Thuong Kiem Street had not been invested in sidewalks and had no drainage system, leading to encroachment on traffic corridors, causing localized flooding, affecting people's lives.
The people of the two neighborhoods have petitioned and the town government has accepted them, promising to come up with a roadmap to resolve the issue. Up to now, the road has been invested in to upgrade and beautify, and the people are very excited. Therefore, during the construction days, the people of the two neighborhoods were all excited, actively supported, and contributed workdays to dismantle the works encroaching on the sidewalk, helping the construction unit to soon have a site, and conveniently carry out the construction.
We are very happy that through the story of road construction, the spirit of the neighborhood's people is increasingly strong and they trust in the dedicated and responsible work of the town's cadres and civil servants. With the characteristic of a district with a large number of Catholics (accounting for over 47% of the population), implementing his advice on solidarity between religions and non-religious people, the Kim Son District Party Committee always identifies this as a continuous task in every stage of the revolution, an important factor in building the great national unity bloc.
The spirit of solidarity between religions in Kim Son is most clearly demonstrated through joint activities for the community and implementation of social security policies.
With the motto "no one is left behind", over the years, Kim Son people in general and religious followers in the district in particular have actively participated in emulation movements to develop socio-economy and help each other reduce poverty.
Typical are emulation movements, campaigns, and models: new rural construction movements, advanced rural construction, model rural construction, civilized urban areas; cornea donation movements; model "Mobilizing religious dignitaries and officials to join hands to support the construction of houses of solidarity between religions"...
In just 5 years (2019-2024), the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and organizations in the district have mobilized members, union members and people to contribute money, thousands of working days, and donate over 89 hectares of land to build new rural areas. Notably, since the first cornea donation in Con Thoi commune (2007), up to now, the whole Kim Son district has had over 417 donors.
The movement has spread to many other localities in the province and throughout the country, making Kim Son a national highlight in cornea donation.
Taking to heart his words, the Party Committee and people of Kim Son have united, unified, and focused on concretizing the Party's Resolutions into life; effectively implementing political tasks, maintaining political security, social order and safety, and making Kim Son constantly develop and become rich. Kim Son has completed the task of building a new rural district 2 years earlier than the plan assigned by the province. In 2022, the Prime Minister decided to recognize it as meeting new rural standards; it is one of the first districts in the country to be recognized as a new rural district according to the criteria of the 2021-2025 period with higher requirements and quality.
The work of Party building and political system building has been focused on, synchronously and comprehensively led and directed, achieving many outstanding results; the effectiveness and efficiency of management and administration of authorities at all levels have been improved. The great national unity bloc and solidarity between religions and non-religious people have continued to be consolidated and promoted, creating a premise for the stability and development of the district.
