Many rare animals are raised, cared for and protected by Mr. Phan Dac Mau Dai (46 years old, Hiep An commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province), making tourists excited.

Mr. Phan Dac Mau Dai's "miniature sanctuary" currently houses thousands of wild animals such as elephants, tigers, crocodiles, gibbons, bears, etc. Currently, Mr. Dai's sanctuary is about 10 hectares wide, serving tourists for sightseeing and experience.

Mr. Phan Dac Mau Dai said that in 1997, he graduated from the intermediate level of veterinary medicine, then he continued to study veterinary medicine at the University of Agriculture and Forestry in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Dai also said that in 2002, he treated an elephant at a tourist area in Da Lat that many people "gave up". Therefore, Mr. Dai was paid up to 50 million VND, equivalent to 7 taels of gold at that time.

In 2005, Mr. Dai went to Dak Lak province to treat another elephant. After hearing that the elephant's owner wanted to sell it, he mortgaged his house and land, borrowed money from the bank to raise 100 million, and then completed the procedures to bring the elephant back to raise.

Also in 2005, Mr. Dai decided to quit his job at the tourist area where he was working to work outside and gradually formed the idea of building a family zoo.

Currently, in Lam Dong, Mr. Dai is the only person who owns a pair of tigers weighing hundreds of kilograms. These two tigers were bought by Mr. Dai from Ho Chi Minh City for 4 billion VND in 2010. These two tigers are currently receiving special care in a cage space of hundreds of square meters. The residence of the two "kings of the jungle" is a place where many tourists come to visit and take pictures.

Young Thu Hien (from Ha Tinh) said: “I live and work in Lam Dong province, but Dai’s zoo is the only place with tigers. That’s why I often introduce my relatives and friends to visit this zoo. Tigers are very rare animals in Vietnam, so it’s not easy to see them in real life. Besides tigers, hundreds of other animals are also raised and cared for very well at Dai’s zoo.”

The bears were raised and successfully bred at Mr. Dai's family zoo. Mr. Dai said that in 2007, from the initial pair of bears, he raised them and they bred, developing into the current herd of 40 individuals.

Mr. Dai also said that all animals raised and cared for on his farm are licensed by the authorities and have full documentation.

Many foreign tourists are also surprised and delighted with the many rare wild animals raised on Mr. Dai’s farm. This is a tourist attraction that many local and foreign tourists come to experience on holidays as well as on normal days.
