"I dare not watch the video a second time, it's too scary, I shudder and am angry," said Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, Principal of Thai Thinh Secondary School ( Hanoi ) when watching the scene of Van Phu Secondary School students, Son Duong District, Tuyen Quang Province, forcing the teacher into the corner of the classroom and cursing.
Mr. Cuong could not imagine that in the currenteducational era, students would assault their own teachers. This is a sad story for the school, teachers, parents, and even the locality where these students live.
“Regardless of the reason, students assaulting and cursing teachers, those who teach them knowledge, is unacceptable,” the teacher said, affirming that this incident must be dealt with severely and stopped immediately. Such behavior must not be allowed to exist in the educational environment, especially in Vietnam, which has a long-standing tradition of respecting teachers.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Nam, Vice Principal of the University of Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) also commented that this was a shocking incident for those working in the education sector.
Many teachers are in a state of confusion, when they cannot use old-fashioned forms of punishment to discipline students, because it violates children's rights. However, they also do not really understand how to apply positive disciplinary methods. Therefore, they are afraid and do nothing to adjust students' behavior.
“The teacher should have handled this incident better from the beginning, but he fell into an emotional trap, lost control of himself, and ended up behaving inappropriately towards his own students, ” said Mr. Nam.
The Vice Principal of the University of Education assessed that from the incident at Van Phu Secondary School, it can be seen that many teachers and schools seem to be powerless in educating students. Along with that is the indifference of colleagues in the school. When the incident happened in the classroom, dozens of students screamed and gathered around to watch, but no other teachers from the school came to intervene.
The parents of these students are also not exempt from responsibility. What did the parents do to make their children willing to violate school rules, and whether adults have set a good example?

Mr. Nguyen Duy Khanh (Biology teacher at MClass Online Education System) shared that we have to reconsider that educating students is not only from the school, but parents, relatives and the community also need to join hands to participate.
When a child is deviant, it is the fault of the entire education system, and all parties are responsible. We should not generalize and blame the school or teachers entirely. Parents should always accompany and connect with their children, and not give the entire responsibility of educating their children to the school or society.
"We only have one or two children, while teachers manage dozens of students. Moreover, parents have more power in educating their children and will understand their children better than anyone else, " said Mr. Khanh.
Whether in public, private, international environments... or any training model or system, never consider students as "gods". If you consider teachers as mere employees serving the "educational business model" and elevate students and parents to a "superior" level, students may look down on teachers.
In some situations, if a teacher fails to satisfy a certain "VIP student", even if the teacher is not wrong, a complaint from a student or parent can end that teacher's job.
"There are situations where students physically and mentally abuse teachers too much, teachers defend themselves, react or lose control a little bit and their entire careers can be ruined. If bad students are not strictly dealt with, perhaps no teacher will dare to come to school to teach anymore, always afraid of becoming a victim at any time, " said Mr. Khanh.
When faced with students who are unusual, eccentric, and deviant to an alarming degree, teachers often have to stay silent, accept to ignore and let things go in order to keep their jobs.
According to Mr. Khanh, education without corporal punishment is good, but education without discipline, order, and rules means teachers have no power, and schools do not have strong measures against these students, which is really difficult.
The target of protection from school violence is no longer limited to students but also includes teachers. "If this situation continues, people with heart and ability will no longer want to pursue the path of teaching because there will be many safer professions with better remuneration," Mr. Khanh shared.
If we do not have a revolution to raise the status of teachers, do not join hands to better protect teachers, then all innovations in curriculum, textbooks, and exams will not have much meaning.
