Prosecution of director for mixing fake fertilizer according to private formula to sell for profit

On September 15, news from the Investigation Police Agency of Tra Vinh Province Police said that the unit had issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Kieu Xuan Cuong (42 years old, residing in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen), Director of Phuc My Chemical and Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, to investigate the act of producing and trading counterfeit goods.

According to the initial investigation results, Phuc My Chemical and Fertilizer Joint Stock Company is headquartered in Xom Trang Hamlet, Nguyet Hoa Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tra Vinh, with Kieu Xuan Cuong as director. The company's inorganic fertilizer production license expired on September 20, 2022, but Cuong still directed workers to decant and mix raw materials according to the formula and ratio set by Cuong to create fertilizers such as urea, DAP, NPK, 61% potassium flakes, etc.

In December 2022, Cuong directed his employees to hire workers to mix and sell 250 bags of Phuc My 61% potash fertilizer to a store in Kien Giang province. Afterwards, the police inspected, discovered and caught red-handed the mixing of fertilizer at Cuong's company; at the same time, a record was made of 374 bags of suspected fake fertilizer.

According to the conclusion of the inspection of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tra Vinh, the above fertilizer samples produced by Phuc My Chemical and Fertilizer Joint Stock Company are fake in quality.

The above case of production and trading of fake fertilizers is being further investigated and handled by the Investigation Police Agency of Tra Vinh Province in accordance with the provisions of law.
