(HNMO) - On June 17, Da Nang City Police informed that they had prosecuted 6 suspects for disturbing public order, due to using weapons and petrol bombs to fight on the street in the early morning of June 13.
Specifically, the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Khe District Police, Da Nang City has issued decisions to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain 6 subjects for disturbing public order. The 6 subjects include: Nguyen Hoang Quoc Dat, Huynh Duc Huy (both 19 years old), Hoang Gia, Nguyen Gia Huy (both 20 years old), Mai Van Vi (22 years old) and Nguyen Hoai Nam (17 years old), all residing in Da Nang.
As reported by Hanoi Moi Newspaper, at around 10:00 p.m. on June 12, while standing in front of a drinking place on Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street (Hoa Cuong Nam Ward, Hai Chau District), a group of teenagers residing in Ngu Hanh Son District (including the above-mentioned defendants) teased two strange teenagers riding a motorbike with a license plate from Hai Chau District.
When a group of teenagers from Ngu Hanh Son district were driving their motorbikes on 2/9 Street towards Bach Dang Street, Hai Chau District, they encountered the other two young men and more than 10 others driving in the opposite direction and kicking their motorbike kickstands down on the street to provoke them.
The group of teenagers from Ngu Hanh Son district also waved their hands, challenging the other group to return. After that, the two groups used pig-stabbing knives, helmets, bricks and stones to chase and fight each other. The group of teenagers from Ngu Hanh Son district was at a disadvantage, so they ran back to the park area on K20 street (Khue My ward, Ngu Hanh Son district) and called for more people to find and beat the strange group of young men.
Two groups of about 30 people caused a riot with “petrol bombs”, machetes, pig-stabbing knives… on Nguyen Van Linh Street (section belonging to Vinh Trung ward, Thanh Khe district) in the early morning of June 13, causing confusion and outrage among the public.
During the investigation, Thanh Khe District Police identified and arrested most of the subjects involved in the above disturbance. The case is currently under further investigation and handling.
