Construction of 100 Dai Doan Ket houses started

Leaders of Can Tho City and leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City presented support signs to build Great Solidarity houses for poor households in Thoi Lai district.

This is a project to welcome the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Can Tho city for the 2024-2029 term, thereby contributing to the locality in caring for and supporting poor households, near-poor households, and households in especially difficult circumstances to have conditions to stabilize their lives and escape poverty sustainably.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City Nguyen Trung Nhan said that the implementation of building Great Unity houses for poor households is a very important activity, because it helps poor households have more spacious and solid houses, helps families have a place to live, from there, poor households can feel secure in working, producing, studying, gradually rising out of poverty, contributing to the socio-economic development in the locality, effectively implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas" launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan asked the members of the families who received the Great Solidarity Houses to continue to try, encourage each other and be determined to develop the family economy to escape poverty sustainably.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, although the Vietnam Fatherland Front, sectors and city levels have made many efforts, there are still many difficult circumstances in the city, some poor and near-poor households with housing difficulties need support, thousands of households are still in need of capital and production materials to improve their lives. Therefore, in the coming time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all city levels will continue to mobilize resources to care for people's lives better and better.

"Specifically, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city will develop a project to support livelihoods for the poor, in order to create more means and capital for labor production, develop family economy and escape poverty in a sustainable way; followed by a program to eliminate temporary houses, bamboo and leaf houses, and makeshift houses; these are also the contents that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city is passionate about and focuses on implementing in the coming term," said Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan.
