On December 17, Can Tho City and Kien Giang Province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a total of 120 Great Solidarity houses funded by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.


On the morning of December 17, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province held a groundbreaking ceremony to build 100 Great Solidarity houses for poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households in 4 districts of An Bien, Giong Rieng, An Minh and Chau Thanh from funding from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - General Director of the Southwest Pipeline Operating Company said that building the Great Unity House is a social security activity maintained by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group in all localities across the country, with a budget of hundreds of billions of VND. This is an important activity in the long-term, sustainable development strategy and is associated with the four core values ​​of the oil and gas culture: "Aspiration - Intelligence - Professionalism - Compassion".

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang Province Ngo Phuong Vu said that Kien Giang is one of the localities where the Block B - O Mon gas pipeline project passes directly through the four districts of An Minh, An Bien, Chau Thanh and Giong Rieng. In the past, all levels and sectors of the province have proactively coordinated with the Southwest Pipeline Operating Company to implement compensation and site clearance for the Block B - O Mon gas pipeline project.

In addition, the local Fatherland Front has actively promoted and mobilized people in areas where the project passes through to properly implement the land handover to create favorable conditions for project implementation.

On the same afternoon, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Can Tho City held a groundbreaking ceremony to build 20 Great Solidarity houses for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in O Mon and Thoi Lai districts, funded by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City Nguyen Trung Nhan thanked the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group for the noble gesture.

“The Group's contribution has added resources, contributing together with the Party Committee, Government and people of Can Tho City to eliminate 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area by September 2025, to practically achieve achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and to welcome the 15th Congress of the Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.", Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan said.
