(NLDO) - District 1 police recognized Ha Huu Vinh's actions as courageous and fearless.
On January 2, District 1 Police (HCMC) organized a surprise reward for Mr. Ha Huu Vinh (a Be motorbike taxi driver) who was beaten by a couple on Le Duan Street, Ben Nghe Ward on the night of December 31, 2024.

At around 11:30 p.m. on December 31, 2024, Mr. TAP (30 years old, from Lam Dong province) was driving a motorbike with his wife, Ms. HNL (28 years old) on Le Duan Street. When he arrived at 2B Le Duan, Ben Nghe Ward, Mr. P. saw a traffic jam ahead, so he intended to turn around and go another way.
When Mr. P. turned around, Nguyen Van Dung (56 years old) drove a motorbike carrying Bui Thi Ngoc Anh (54 years old) from behind, blocking Mr. P. from turning around and insulting him.
A conflict arose, Dung rushed in to beat Mr. P and his wife. At this time, preparing for the new year, there were many people and vehicles, causing traffic jams.
Seeing the incident, Vinh, who was driving a passenger, came to intervene. However, the male driver was beaten up by Dung and Anh.
District 1 Police highly appreciated Mr. Dung's brave and fearless action; affirmed that this was a beautiful action of a citizen that should be spread in society. Therefore, District 1 Police promptly proposed that District 1 People's Committee award a certificate of merit to Mr. Vinh.
On January 1, District 1 Police (HCMC) issued an emergency detention order, temporarily detaining Nguyen Van Dung (56 years old) and Bui Thi Ngoc Anh (54 years old, both residing in District 1) to investigate the act of disturbing public order.
