On the evening of August 21, in Hanoi, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a Gala dinner to welcome the "4th Conference of Overseas Vietnamese around the world" and the "Forum of Overseas Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts" (Conference and Forum). Warmly welcoming more than 400 overseas Vietnamese delegates from more than 40 countries and territories in Hanoi to attend the event, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said that the Conference and Forum are meaningful events for overseas Vietnamese as well as the entire nation. The Minister emphasized that this is not only an opportunity for Vietnamese people from all over the world to meet, reunite, and reunite, but also a forum for people to contribute ideas to build the country, realize the aspiration of building a strong and united overseas Vietnamese community, and build a prosperous and beautiful Vietnam.Minister Bui Thanh Son was pleased to see that, in recent times, the Vietnamese community abroad has grown stronger and stronger.
During his overseas trips, the Minister shared his pride because the governments of the countries highly appreciated the diligence, hard work and very positive contributions of the people to the societies of the host countries.
Coming to each land, meeting and listening to the people's stories, the Minister was very moved by their will and efforts to rise up.

In many places around the world, we are proud that there are more and more Vietnamese politicians, scientists, businessmen, and famous artists who are respected by society and the community," Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized.
Congratulating the successes and sincerely thanking the people for their many contributions to the homeland and country, contributing to glorifying the Fatherland, Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the Party and State, directly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, always care for and look after the Vietnamese community abroad.
All policies and guidelines are issued in the spirit of considering people as an "inseparable part" of the Vietnamese ethnic community.
Over the past 20 years since Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW of the Politburo on overseas Vietnamese affairs was issued, many meaningful programs and activities such as: Spring Homeland, Overseas Vietnamese Delegation attending the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, visiting the military and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 Platform, Vietnam Summer Camp, Vietnamese Language Honor Day... have been organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bringing generations of overseas Vietnamese back to the Fatherland, contributing to fostering feelings for the homeland, thereby fueling the desire to contribute and join hands to contribute to the development of the country.

Appreciating the important contributions of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (formerly the Central Committee for Overseas Vietnamese), Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said that over the past 65 years, the Committee has become a common home, a trusted address for overseas Vietnamese and a bridge bringing overseas Vietnamese closer to the country, contributing to promoting the cause of great national unity.
Emphasizing "going to return", Minister Bui Thanh Son said that no matter what reason or circumstance our people leave, deep in their hearts they always turn towards their homeland and always long to return to their roots.
The Fatherland always opens its arms to welcome its children returning from abroad, wishing to join hands and shoulder the burden of national affairs.
With that spirit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs hopes that people will continue to promote the tradition of mutual love and support, obey the law and actively integrate, contribute to the development of the locality, unite the community to develop together, at the same time preserve the national identity and Vietnamese language, turn towards the country, continue to contribute their heart, mind and strength to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Besides, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the community of 6 million Vietnamese people abroad, worthy of being a home of shared love.
