Hanoi Children's Hospital is ranked as one of the city's key projects, marking an important milestone in the socio-economic development of the capital in general and the work of caring for and protecting people's health in particular.
Attending and cutting the ribbon to inaugurate the hospital were Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation. Also attending were Party Central Committee members: Dao Hong Lan, Minister of Health; Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training... and leaders of central ministries, departments, and agencies, and Hanoi city.
Phase 1 of the construction of Hanoi Children's Hospital consists of a 6-storey building with 2 main areas including the examination area and the inpatient treatment area (200 beds). Hanoi Children's Hospital is the first general hospital specializing in children in the capital with 24 specialties.
The operation of Hanoi Children's Hospital affirms the efforts, endeavors and responsibilities of the entire political system of Hanoi city in implementing the goals and Program No. 08 of the City Party Committee, contributing to the successful completion of the targets set by the Resolution of the Hanoi City Party Congress.

To become a leading hospital in Pediatrics, ensuring the care, protection and improvement of health for children in the area and neighboring provinces, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha requested the Hanoi Department of Health to continue directing the Children's Hospital to complete its organizational structure, supplement human resources and equipment, serve medical examination and treatment, direct the line, conduct scientific research and training, research and develop specialized technical services of leading nature, receive and master advanced medical technical services in the world, gradually professionalize hospital management towards high quality standards, and build hospital culture.
On the other hand, continue to research and review the medical examination and treatment needs of local people; promptly advise and propose investment in phase 2 so that Hanoi Children's Hospital can reach 500 beds, worthy of being the leading Children's Hospital in the capital.

On this occasion, the leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee also requested central ministries, departments and branches, especially the Ministry of Health, to continue supporting the capital in ensuring social security in general and health care for the people in particular. Continue to support the Hanoi health sector to develop specialized and general hospitals at the specialized level and meet the criteria of being a leading hospital, taking on a national role in the national health system.
